Diabolo.ca Collaboration video 2017

Samuli

the twelfth annual diabolo.ca collaboration video celebrating the thirteenth anniversary of the D.ca forum./ndiabolo jugglers from many different countries are here sharing their tricks with all of us. Now it is time to celebrate even that this video is published way late and unfortunately doesn't have all the clips that were sent for the 2017 collaboration project in the first place. Sorry for that but I wasn't able to do much about that. Some say better late than never and some might still dissagree but try to enjoy this Late Reduced remix of Diabolo.ca Collaboration video 2017. Cheers, Rauli/n#sharingiscaring/ndiabolo jugglers included on the video: Chloé The VOID Eduardo Bemfica Jannis K. Ambled 3V - Unicorn Charge!

wmurray

The Ambled 3V, a.k.a., Unicorn Charge! Performed by Keith Campbell, Ingrid Johnson, Will Murray, Britt Tyler, and Staffan Ulfberg in July 2017./nThe Scrambled 3V is a combination of Aidan Burns's Scrambled 3 and Scrambled V patterns to make a five-person, two-manipulator pattern. In the Ambled version, we add an extra club (12 in total) and make all the passes doubles so it takes place on a 10-club doubles feed. /nIn the Ambled 3, the manipulator (M) substitutes a pass from the right feedee (C) to the feeder (A). But *before* delivering that club to A, M must steal another club from A. (This is the same set of steals as in the Scrambled 3, but in the Scrambled 3 you don't have the time travel problem.) So M must actually juggle for one beat! /nWhen we filmed this, Ingrid and Britt were wearing matching unicorn t-shirts, so when they charged together they made unicorn horns. This is how the pattern shall forever henceforth be performed.

World Juggling Day Festival 2016 in Japan

lucasadverse

This is the biggest juggling festival I've ever been to in my life and it was a blast. This video includes the best jugglers that I talked to and had the opportunity to record with. I wrote down the names and social media of all the people who are in the video, so please go support them! (names are written on the YouTube video description because it doesn't fit here). Thank you very much to everyone who participated. Tricks With Hats: The Shuffle

TricksWithHats

The Shuffle - Another three hat juggling trick - this time it's the half shower This is a variation of a jugglers' trick called the Half Shower. Start with one hat on the head, and one in each hand, held in an outside grip. Throw one hat across the body, flat, with no spin. As soon as you've let go of this hat, take off the one on your head with your now-empty hand. The other hand slaps/places its hat onto the head, just in the nick of time to then catch the first (thrown) hat. You should now be back where you started. The timing is a little odd for this one, but just remember "Throw.... take....place....catch", and you'll get it. From the TricksWithHats archive

Tricks With Hats: Coatpeg drop

TricksWithHats

First do the coatpeg with your left hand. Then drop the hat straight down, and catch it with the right hand behind the back. Place it back on the head.

Tricks With Hats: Crown Pinches

TricksWithHats

Take a pinch grip at the front of the hat's crown and flick it up and forwards. Turn the hand round so the palm is facing forwards to catch the hat in another pinch grip at the back. After you've got a feel for this try doing it without looking at the hat. Either place it straight back on the head or reverse the process to return it. If you use a bowler hat make sure you take a really firm pinch to crease the top of the hat when removing it, otherwise you'll be left trying to catch the smooth round surface of the back of the hat. Once you've mastered this one it's a trivial task to start by pinching the back of the hat and flicking it to a catch on the front.

Tricks With Hats: Dan's Rolls

TricksWithHats

Hold the hat in an inside grip. Put the other arm out at an angle and twist the hand round so it faces backwards. Place the hat on the upper arm and let it roll down to a catch in another inside grip. Repeat as often as you like by alternating sides.

Tricks With Hats: Easy Arm Tumbles

TricksWithHats

Turn your head to the left, then reach over with the right hand to grab the front of the brim (in as close to an inside grip as you can manage). Lift the front of the hat and remove it from the head so it is upside down above the shoulder. Straighten the arm so it ends in an inside grip at arms length. Turn your head to the right so you are looking at the hat, flex the wrist so the hat lies inside the forearm then bend the elbow and replace the hat on the head (with your hand at the back). Repeat on the other side.

Tricks With Hats: Foot flickup

TricksWithHats

At some point, your hat will end up on the floor and you'll want it back in your hand. You could just bend down and pick it up (boring!), use a normal foot to head (less boring, but relatively easy) or you could use this little move... (Far more studly way to kick a hat :-) Place the hat on the floor, to your left, crown downwards and the opening tilting slightly towards you. Point your right toe, and bring it behind your left leg. Place your right toe into the opening of the hat, and give it a quick upwards flick. With luck (and practice :-) you can make the hat jump up into your left hand. Top tip: If the hat isn't quite in the right position, you can use your right foot to move it around a bit before kicking. Bonus points: Do it without falling over about 20 times whilst filming the damn clip for your website...

Tricks With Hats: Foot to foot

TricksWithHats

After getting the hat to your foot (the knock to foot is the most common way, but there are plenty of others) you can hop and quickly remove your foot from the hat. Quickly get your throwing foot onto the ground and place the other foot inside the hat. As you can see from the video the hat stays fairly still and it's you that does all the movement. This video of the hat being spun as it is thrown between the feet should give you some ideas for variations on this trick.

Tricks With Hats: Knock to Foot

TricksWithHats

Place your palm flat on the back of the head for a neck chop and knock the hat upwards with the little finger side of the hand. A few tries and you will see how much force is required to get it to spin 3/4 and land on your foot. You need to flex your foot as much as possible to stop it slipping off.

Tricks With Hats: Upward twiddle

TricksWithHats

Upward twiddle - Twiddle the hat directly above the head Use a palm-up fork grip on both sides the hat, and lift it off the head and straight up. Remove the ring fingers from the brim and twist the hat between the fore and middle fingers. Stop the spin by gripping the brim between the fore fingers and thumb. You can either place it straight back on the head, or reverse the twiddle on the way back down. From the TricksWithHats Archive

Tricks With Hats: Wipe up

TricksWithHats

Place the inside of the elbow against the forehead and duck your head down out of the hat. The little drop to the side in the video clip is based on a move normally done with plates. This trick links nicely to levitation.
