A Jugglers Review | Gballz

jugglerdavies

Let me go into more details for you, getting these balls delivered was the first issue I came across. It took a while to resolve issues I was having with the delivery company and for whatever reason I was charged an extra fee to get them released from Parcel Force to me. The balls I received are great quality and one day they will be amazing to juggle, but they are in no means “underfilled beanbags.” I do however appreciate Gregory for all the time and effort he put in to making me a logo and creating the balls and wallet, it was incredible of him to do that off his own back and I really appreciate it. I was in contact with Gregory and told him how awesome it was of him to be doing such things, I even sent him a small amount of money as a thank you for the Logo he created, he gave me his info but never acknowledged it after that. I think Gregory is awesome but I also think he is too busy at times and I believe that may impact how he reacts with customers of the business.

Tricks With Hats: Full arm roll (backhand release)

TricksWithHats

Full arm roll (backhand release) - Roll the hat from hand to hand along outstretched arms Hold the hat with the crown back in an inside grip in your outstretched right hand. Flick the hat so that it spins up out of the back of your hand onto the arm and rolls across the back of the neck (make sure the head is ducked forward out of the way) and down the other arm. As the hat reaches the other wrist bend the hand up and catch it in a inside grip. Make sure the arms are sloped so that the hat is always rolling "downhill", and practice, practice, practice - this is a difficult trick. From the TricksWithHats archive

Tricks With Hats: Arm Roll

TricksWithHats

Arm Roll - Rolling a hat along your arm. Hold the hat in an inside grip, and from behind the head (duck a bit), release with a flick of the wrist. The brim stays in front of the arm, whilst the crown rolls along it. The easy catch is palm-upwards. The hard, snazzy catch, which extends the roll a little bit, is palm downwards; let the brim roll over the thumb, and pinch-catch the brim between thumb & forefinger. Smile. Tricks With Hats: Backcross to head catch

TricksWithHats

Backcross to head catch - Throw the hat behind your back, and catch it on your head. Like most throwing moves, this is a variation on the Throw to head - so it's probably a good idea to learn that first! Hold the hat in your right hand using an inside grip, spread your fingers out nice and wide as you would for a normal throw to the head. Swing your arm out to the side, so that the crown of the hat is pointing downwards. Bring your arm behind your back and release the hat so that it does a nice, high, slow spin above your left shoulder. As the hat descends, look up into it and catch it in the same way that you would for a standard throw to the head. Top Tip: The catching part is easier if you turn your head towards your left shoulder just before the catch. Oh, and obviously learn this throw from both hands... From the TricksWithHats archive

Tricks With Hats: Can Opener

TricksWithHats

Can Opener - Literally flipping your lid! Reach over your shoulder and head, and hold the hat in an inverted pinch grip Flick the wrist upwards and release the hat, which will execute a perfect single spin (honest). Coat-peg catch above your head. Minus five style points if you have to look... Plus 10 points if you can catch the hat on your head blind, and without the coat-peg grip. Matt Hennem - 'Liquid Underground'

cupoftea

- london tube contact juggling - produced by howie.tv - released April 2013. Matt brings together elements of popping/locking, juggling, manipulation, isolation, illusion and humour to create a modern twist on the classic contact juggling art first seen by many when performed over 25 years ago by Michael Moschen in Jim Henson's 'Labyrinth'. Credited as one of the co-creators of the modern contact juggling style, Matt continues to captivate audiences across the world with his unique performance. He uses a combination of a 100mm solid crystal clear acrylic ball and a touch of obsession. - the music is 'Hard to Find' by Robot Koch. - www.robotsdontsleep.com - soundcloud.com/robot-koch - www.thatguywithaball.com

The Steve

Sandy

Originally invented by Mushy Pea Steve this move was refered to as "that move Steve does" and became known simply as The Steve. Hold your arm out in front of you with the staff a little above your head. Spin the staff towards you so it will roll down your arm and release it just before the staff is pointing straight in front of you. As the staff rolls down your arm straighten your arm a little to allow a smoother roll and raise your arm up. When it gets to your shoulder raise that shoulder and drop the other so it keeps rolling. As it comes onto your second arm raise that arm with the staff to give it the momentum to get back to your hand.

Completing The Circle

ljp

In 2004 Jonathan Jolly released a DVD called Completing the Circle, a documentary about the UK juggling scene filmed over 6 months in 2003. It's a wonderful snapshot of the UK juggling scene at the time, with great footage from various conventions and interviews with many of the jugglers who were on the scene during this period. Jonathan has now decided to make this lost project freely available to the juggling community. Click the link above to read some of Jonathan's thoughts on the project.

Trailer -

Brunitus

Marina and Brunitus presents: "Inercia Térmica" (power circus theater street show) We are two circus performers that, as a gear mechanism, transmit power to each other. We generate power with the juggling, acrobatics, dance, trapeze and diabolos. We seek "human" warmth in the public, raise it up to its maximum exponent and then release it to the environment... That is "thermal inertia"
