Box Traps

erygordyh

This is a trick more commonly done with clubs, diabolos, or devil sticks but I think it translates nicely with cigar boxes. These are just a few of the many possible variations that I'm working on.

Contact Juggling after 17 months

markconigliaro

I can explain myself with this one. I did the toss juggling shots first since I had different locations and the wind wouldn't let me juggle for too long at a time. And the contact part was supposed to be like 2 straight runs. So after the juggling part was done, my battery was almost dead. So I quickly made the 2 runs (about 3 minutes each) and also shot some experimental tricks. I figured that would take all 4 minutes of my song....nope...after some editing it totaled about 2 minutes and 30 seconds...so I had to stretch it out./nSo this is pretty much an instructional video now. I threw in some names for the hard stuff so you can ask me about those if you have questions./nThe song is Familiar Taste of Poison by Halestorm. That song is dedicated to the last trick I do in this video, it's my poison.

Convoyor Belt

Sandy

Another good move to start with, this is just a reverse elbow wrap followed by a forwards elbow wrap but in wall plane (spinning in front of you as if you were facing a wall). As with all contact, don't let go of the staf untill your hand is touching the contact point (in this case the outside of your elbow). This helps give a nice smooth contact roll. As the video shows this move can be done with hands apart (adding an extra beat) or together. It also leads nicly into pivots.

Elbow Fishtails

Sandy

These can be done forwards and backwards. They arn't true elbow fishtails because there is only one beat of a fishtail at a time with other beats put in to get positioning. If anyone manages complete continuous elbow fishtails please let me know and i'll stick a vid up cos they are DAMN hard. The tricky bit of this move is getting your elbow across 180 fast enough to catch the fishtail but not so fast the staff flys off your elbow. (See also Reverse Elbow Fishtails)

FDC2006 Spoonful

Samuli

FDC2006: Spoonful weights a ton Finnish Diabolo Convention was founded 2006 by Sirkus Supiainen. Here's second video of that festival. music by: Flaming Lips Singalong with video, here are the lyrics: ... And though they were sad They rescued everyone They lifted up the sun A spoonful weighs a ton Giving more than they had The process had begun A million came from one The limits now were none Being drunk on their plan, they lifted up the sun Forcing it off with their hands The trapdoor came undone Above our heads it swung The privilege had been won Being drunk on their plan, they lifted up the sun Yelling as hard as they can The doubters all were stunned Heard louder than a gun The sound they made was love

Fishtail Fountain

Sandy

This came about through me and Tim messing about with antispin contact ideas and trying to work out how to antispin a fishtail. We came up with the antispin fishtail fountain and realised it could be done without antispin (obviously). Surprisingly the antispin version is easier as it doesn't try to fly off your hand as much. Starting in reverse do 1 beat behind you then go straight into a 180 fishtail carry upwards. As you come out of the 180 do 1 beat of forwards fishtail behind you and pull it out into a low 180 carry back the way you came. Repeat.

Juggling After 16 Months (new style)

markconigliaro

I liked how this one turned out. It's not my usual style of 1 straight take, this one has edits. I had to do edits for various reason. I also forgot a trick I can do very well, behind the back catches with my new toys, and I'm mad I forgot that since I spent a good 3 days straight practicing it. Like I said in the intro, I've only been doing rings for 2 weeks (well 2 weeks and 2 days) and I pretty much haven't done anything at all except them.
