(Farmington, New Mexico), registration will be at 5:30 p.m. with the contest beginning at 5:45 p.m. outside the Farmington Museum during Freedom Days! See String Theory in Action! While enjoying the Farmington Museum Foundation Ice Cream Social, take a moment to cheer on the string slingers at the Farmington Museum. The Yo Down Show Down will showcase the skills of some of our youngest museum patrons and is also open to all ages and skill levels. The contest is free to enter and is a bring your own yo-yo event. The extraordinarily talented Fu Xiuyu from the Changchun Acrobatic Troupe, at the 12th Monte Carlo Circus Festival (1987), kicking multiple bowls up to her head while on a giraffe unicycle ... on a rolling globe!
Astonishingly the act did not win either a gold or silver clown, but the Changchun troupe, which presented this act and a highwire act, won "Monaco City Prize" and "Monte Carlo TV Station Prize".

The half shower is a variation on the cascade (the basic juggling pattern). In the half shower one hand does over the top throws while the other hand throws normally. It is a beginners tricks and a fun one to learn.

Haymaker Yo-Yo Trick -Luke Renner. A trick that is fun to perform and features various catches. The Haymaker requires a non-responsive yo-yo. The yo-yo used by Luke Renner is the MagicYoYo N8. Special Thanks to MagicYoYo in Shenzen! String is 50/50 slick string courtesy of Shannon Jackson. Filmed outside in Northwest New Mexico in August 2012. The outside wind speed when the trick was filmed was around 6mph from the NW. The Haymaker is much easier to perform indoors without the wind factor. Music courtesy of Stuart and the Juice Tigers.

Despina Kehaiova (15 yrs) hula hoops at 10th Cirque de Demain 1987. Silver medal
In the same year, she competed at the Monte Carlo Circus Festival as topmounter for the Kehaiova teeterboard troupe. They won a silver clown.
Sadly she died in 2004, aged 32, when her aerial silk rigging failed while performing with Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey.

The matrix. It's hard. That's why everyone loves it. You can do the matirx in 2 ways, starting on the neck like I do or starting on the shoulder like meg does here. To distinguish the difference I call this version a full matrix because it goes fully around your body and not just under both arms. I personally prefer the full matrix (well I would wouldn't I) because I think it looks nicer but it's all a matter of oppinion. The secret to getting a matrix is to really lean. It takes a while to get and takes even longer (a lot longer) to get it solid. As with everything practice, practice, practice.

Finally got a new prop, and I got it exactly 1 week before filming, and that week was E3 week. All the gamers out there can figure out how much practice I had that week...but yea, I upgraded to new sticks, string, and length 2 days before filming, so it took a while for me to get used to it, even now it feels weird./nBut yea, the 2nd song was a light fun hearted song (for most of it), so that's why I wasn't too serious about editing, it just seemed to fit well having extended clips. I like it.
