I made this video because I wanted to try putting some effort into the production side of things and because I had a bunch of clips I wanted to show certain individuals. Because I had no one in particular in mind to show all of this stuff to, the video has an ADHD feel to it that I like.
For the record, the juggling here is pretty respectably difficult, the straps are respectably intermediate, and the wheel stuff is laughably simple. This is in line with how often I practice each of them as well as the total length of time I've been working on each.

Shot outside the Odeon in Cardiff Bay. Shortly afterward the marketing manager asked me if I wanted to earn some free tickets by performing in front of the imax screen while the people took their seats for Alice in Wonderland. Of course I said yes and it went pretty well.
Good times. :)
Also, I should probably credit Wes Peden for the inspiration (although he's probably sick of it by now).

As usual, the tricks just reflect what I've been practicing over the past time, and as such, this one is only Balls, Rings, and Clubs (my new Radical Fish clubs to be exact), but all the tricks here are twice as good as in ANY of my later videos. i wasn't going to make another video but then I saw that BeeJay did the same trick as I did. As such, this is my 3rd and last video for the IJA Youtube Tutorial contest 2011. It is a club passing trick that was taught to me by Dr. Bonkers of the Poetic Motion Machine. /nIf you like it please vote for me at www.juggle.org between April 1st and 4th.

When I arrived at the Pacific Northwest Juggling Convention in Corvallis I had no intentions of entering any competitions. Reluctantly I agreed to participate, not really knowing who Sean McKinney was. After watching the other performers, I was sure I didn't win and went up to the Balcony to watch the rest of the show. They announced me as the winner just as I had come down for a drink of water. They gave me the coolest juggling trophy I've ever seen! Since then I've done my homework on McKinney and spent some time with the people who knew him and decided I probably was the right person for this particular competition.

Normally I'm not a fan of people posting their artistic research and normally I would never post anything that wasn't carefully edited. I have no idea why I'm posting this or who would find it interesting but I've been working on a new act and going through old video clips looking for forgotten ideas. This is literally 3:58 of pure improv. One late night, one shot, one song, an empty room, lot of caffeine, a little juggling and a few emotions. There are drops. There are moments that are self-indulgent and overdone. Technical jugglers you will not like this. You guys that are interested in pure process may find it interesting.
