June 2010 SunRise Kendama Mini-Edit/nTwo brand new SunRise Kendama's (one black, one white) arrived in the post today from Czech Republic (courtesy of http://www.kendama.cz/ - thanks Mirek!). Ori Roth and company asked to put together a little something for the Israel Juggling Convention, so I threw this together with the wonderful assistance of my lovely wife and Choji-kun at school. Seeing as I'm going to the British Juggling Convention right before Israel, and given that I'm teaching similar workshops at both gatherings, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. Note: I'll be teaching a similar set at Barullo in Mexico in June! Banzai!

This is my summer 2010 juggling video. Unlike my last one, this thing is just juggling, none of those other distractions. The summer went a little off plan and for that reason I didn't get to juggle nearly as much as I had intended to. /nMy biggest problem was that I decided I was going to run 50 miles on August 1st. So all through June and July I was running a lot. . . like way more than you should, about 80 to 100 miles a week. Most every day I was juggling for a few hours, then running for a few hours, then studying for a few hours, then eating for a while. It turns out that it's bad for your body to do that. I lost 15 lbs in 4 weeks while I was eating 10,000 calories a day. As a result I wound up really immune compromised and I got shingles in late July. Shingles in very painful so I had to stop running and at that point I gained about a pound a day for almost 2 weeks. For those of you who have never experienced rapid weight fluctuations, they suck. Here my first video on JTV but my second ever.
Filmed during my vacation time (Mai and June) in China in Shanghai and beijing (zhong shan park is in Shanghai).
Not the best tricks, but I set a high value on the localations and backgrounds that time.
The music is made by Haiao Mijazaki (hope it's the right spelling) from the movies: Nausicaä; Castle in the sky and Totoro :D Great movies and great music everytime!
This special, one sided diabolo is calles kong zhu and very famous in Shanghai!
