tipsy gent ball juggler & partner - Australian? ca. 1950?

bad1dobby

Don't know any details. Clip is from home movies of Tex Glanville - Australian rope spinner extraordinaire from the Variety era. I added the music. 2 balls & umbrella; 3-5 balls; 3 ball takeaways

Or you can call it 'Thanks Juggle Art', but that doesn't look as cool. Just a practice vid from Tues 22 feb, so minimal editing. Most of the tricks are new with the diabolo, except the Vertax one where the diabolo goes out of the screen (I saw Will C do it at MJC) and the infinite suicide one. And a juggling TV first: Hamish juggling with up to 5 balls. I'm good to make a tutorial for any trick at all!

Toast: Aidan Burns' Scrambled V Variation (sB iC cC)

Ed_Clark

__1__2__3 A: ps ps ps ->B B: ps ss ps ->C C: ss ps ss -> A M: sB iC cC -> M The feeder is "A", the juggler to the feeder's left is "B" and the juggler to the feeder's right is "C". The feeder counts "1 2 3" to make it easier to keep track of where we are in the pattern. On beats 1 and 3, A (the feeder) and B exchange a pass. On beat 2, A and C exchange a pass. On 3, juggler B catches the pass and walks on four count (rotating the positions anti-clockwise). 1. "sB": The manipulator substitutes a pass from A to B. 2. "iC": The manipulator (M) intercepts a the pass from A to C. The juggler who was C is the new manipulator, and reads from the manipulator line. The old manipulator reads C's line. 3. "cC": The manipulator carries a club to C. All the jugglers are re-labeled and the new feeder starts counting the 3 passes.

Toddingtons Diabolo Tour

toddingtontoons

I'm Toddington from the UK. I started up Diabolo 9 months ago when I started travelling Sri Lanka and India. The internet was terrible so I've been learning from books until now. So glad to be in Japan now and finally find some inspiration online. Here is a video of my exploits so far./nI'm heading to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Australia, Canada next ... probably in that order. Contact me if you wanna get involved somehow =]

Our best video so far, please try to enjoy. Music by Featurecast. Many tricks could have been smoother, though... This is very bad time to put such a poor video, you know, Eljas and Joona's "Adjectives" :D Anyways, big thanks to them (and Onni, Matias, Pranay and many others!) for inspirating us so much!

Trick With Hats: Forward Twiddle

TricksWithHats

Forward Twiddle - Twiddle the hat off the head and back on. It's got comedy potential too! Allegedly. Use a palm-up fork grip on both sides the hat, and lift it off the head. Remove the ring fingers from the brim and twist the hat between the fore and middle fingers. Stop the spin by gripping the brim between the fore fingers and thumb. Reverse the process to return the hat to the head. You can get an easy laugh by getting the return part wrong and pretending to hit yourself in the face. Jon Lockwood (of Mushy Pea Juggling fame, now working as with "Company of Fools") did lots of hat workshops at juggling conventions in the mid to late 1990's and started Mike and LP out on the hat road. This was often the first trick he taught...so it's Jon and this trick that ultimately led to the creation of this site. Thanks Jon! From the TricksWithHats archive

Trick With Hats: Two handed tumble

TricksWithHats

Hold the hat with the crown to the outside in an outside grip. Bring it across the body, and cross the arms. Flick the hat over and drop it onto the thumb of the catching hand. Uncross the arms. The hat is now held in an outside grip in the other hand, which suggests that the tumble would be a good next move.

Tricks With Hats: Arm Roll

TricksWithHats

Arm Roll - Rolling a hat along your arm. Hold the hat in an inside grip, and from behind the head (duck a bit), release with a flick of the wrist. The brim stays in front of the arm, whilst the crown rolls along it. The easy catch is palm-upwards. The hard, snazzy catch, which extends the roll a little bit, is palm downwards; let the brim roll over the thumb, and pinch-catch the brim between thumb & forefinger. Smile. Tricks With Hats: Back Roll (One handed)

TricksWithHats

Back Roll (One handed) - Rolling the hat across your back from one side to the other. This trick is the one handed version of Back Rolls Hold the had in an Inside grip, with the thumb in a straight line with the forearm. Bend over at the waist, swing the arm across the body, and up under the armpit. Flick the wrist at the last moment to help with the spin. Look out to the side, and GRAB! Haggis' Hot Tip: If you can get the hat to bounce oll on the catching arm as it comes off of your back, this will slow things down a bit. From the TricksWithHats archive
