Tennis Can: The Development of an Idea

happysmurfday

This is a collection of video I shot over the years as I developed a routine around the tennis ball and can./nHere's my recollection of the history of 3 tennis balls and a tennis can: On easter of 1989 I was bored and picked up a can of tennis balls thinking, "I can probably throw all of the balls out of the can and then go into a 4 pattern that includes the can." I quickly discovered some of the centrifugal properties of the can and began developing a routine at the Celebration Barn with people like Fritz Grobe and Steven Ragatz helping to critique my idea. At the same time in another part of the world, Scott Slesnick had discovered the same prop, but was doing different things with it. Neither of us knew of the other for years, but when we met at an IJA convention in Vegas one year, we pieced together the rumors we had heard of each other and decided that we had both come up with it independently and had been spreading it around the world over the years.

In this world, there are two types of people; those who frolick along warm sandy beaches in shell suits, and those who don't. The divide is drawn in the sand, and a war is coming.

Trap N' Roll (One Year of Club Juggling)

lucasadverse

I decided to try clubs and this is a compilation of all the best doable ideas I had in one year of practice. Most of these ideas involve traps and rolls because I've always thought this style of club juggling looks dope thanks to the people mentioned in the video. I would like to especially thank Jorge Vilchis and Yerel Ahumada who are two great friends of mine who helped me in the beginning. I started by following their styles and I wouldn't have created most of my tricks if it wasn't for them. Lastly, I would like to point out that the reason I progressed so fast was that I focused on these types of tricks, and because of that I can't even do backcrosses or juggle 4 clubs LoL. Un Petit Film de Jonglage

Exactly what the title says: a little film of juggling. I made this video about three months into circus school because people were asking me for a new video. I just threw it together so it's not very good.

Was It Really Worth the Wait?

MasterKatra42

I haven't had very many creative ideas recently. Most, if not all the tricks in this video were other people's tricks, or ideas they had for me to try. Let's see if you can match the jugglers with the tricks I did because of them. WES PEDEN vs ILIA POLIAKOV - Jolleyball on the Stage

This is the best moment in the entire show, and my most brilliant idea - to play jolleyball on stage! Idea cames to my head on the night before the performance. Whipcracking Workshop with Pete Gamble

Tomfooleryish

I took the SittCom Circus Crew, who've been learning and developing circus skills over the past few years, to the Milton Keynes Juggling Convention in November 2010. While we were there, I bumped into an old friend from Wales, Pete Gamble. He agreed to let me film him teaching my young people the art of whipcracking. Enjoy!

World Juggling Day 2013 in Osaka

Teku

Watch in HD! My first trip to WJD Osaka. It was held over 2 days and had an attendance of over 700 people in total. Some truly amazing things went down, hopefully this will give you an idea of what it was like. You may have noticed Nick Laffey in there as well, he happened to be in Japan this week so it was perfect timing. Anyone coming to Japan give me a shout and I'll help you out with interpreting or getting you around to the various juggling clubs in Tokyo/Yokohama. Honestly even if you don't know Japanese it's no problem, juggling is the best communication.

This is the biggest juggling festival I've ever been to in my life and it was a blast. This video includes the best jugglers that I talked to and had the opportunity to record with. 珍しい二人のブラジル人ジャグラー (Part 1)

lucasadverse

In case you are wondering why everything's so Japanese about the video, the reason is because we wanted to convey the message that we are very influenced by their juggling in a different way. The main idea of the video is not to copy tricks from Japanese people, but to show variations and tricks that we made based on their tricks. The second part of the video is coming soon and won't have Japan as a theme. Thanks so much for watching! (P.S. half of the description is supposed to be in Japanese, but since there isn't enough space here I couldn't include it. To read it, check out the YouTube link). Inspirations: Adverse – Jr. (Ryohei Kimura), Kota Hayashi (3hirota), Kouta Ōhashi, Yoshiya and HITOketsuraku. Rick - asf360, Shiomi (shiomi2112), Koichi Miyamoto (m5813k) and Lucas Adverse. Music: I had to merge two tracks into one because we had too much footage :P Rip Slyme – Galaxy Rip Slyme – Joint Location: Praça da Liberdade - Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
