Promote the "Art of Yo" in the Four Corners during the 11th Annual Yo-Yo Contest at the Farmington Museum 3041. (Farmington, New Mexico), registration will be at 5:30 p.m. with the contest beginning at 5:45 p.m. outside the Farmington Museum during Freedom Days! See String Theory in Action! While enjoying the Farmington Museum Foundation Ice Cream Social, take a moment to cheer on the string slingers at the Farmington Museum. The Yo Down Show Down will showcase the skills of some of our youngest museum patrons and is also open to all ages and skill levels. The contest is free to enter and is a bring your own yo-yo event. From Moscow Circus in Finland 1981, Anton & Antoshka, clowning duo, with some great hat and cane (umbrella) moves.
Anton & Antoshka are 'reprise clowns' - ie. they perform short pieces while other acts' equipment is changed over. This duo are highly skilled across several disciplines - juggling, acrobatics, rola bola.

The 2nd episode of Mainz Manipulation Mania.
This time you'll see the incredible Hagen, who studied at the circus-school "Etage" in Berlin before going to cirkus cirkoer (Stockholm) in 2003 where he developed most of his fine 3 club art showed in this video. He then broke his leg and decided to come back to Germany. From 2005 to 2006, together with Paul Lind, he created some nice 3 ball stuff. Hagen now lives in Frankfurt and teaches juggling and artistry at the Clownsschule Mainz.

The juggling is just a simple 3 club cascade, but the performance package is what counts here - a charming picture of a boy with his toy juggling automaton.

The hatstand made its debut at chocfest 7, where I was compering. After a period of prototyping and refining, I built the version that worked. I demoed this a couple of times then it broke. I replaced the elastic and set it up for the big day, used it on stage and it worked, then broke next time I used it.
Be prepared to spend significant tinkering time in between uses, and for frequent breakdowns. That said, it's never let me down when I've needed it.
All in all I've found it a great way to get chicks[1], if you don't count the long evenings spent honing the design and strewing the house with geeky construction equipment, and the fact you'll be laughed out of most nightclubs if you go in wearing a topper. But on stage it works, and it has drawn admiring glances from fellow jugglers and even won us a bag full of croissants on one occasion.
