This is the first of the "Cate Emily" videos. I give the title Cate Emily to videos that I feel make a statement about me. In other words something more serious than a quick practice video. I actually never even called myself "Cate Emily" until I made this video, but it started to stick, so I went with it...
The title is true by the way, I went off my medication (anti-depressants actually, but Ritalin is more catchy) and made this video in a four day burst of caffeine/ADD fueled burst of mania. Bet you didn't know that, huh?

That’s my new 3 ball juggling video. After watching the footage the first time I noticed that I had too much stuff for a normal video. Because of that I decided to separate it in 5 chapters. I think that the structure makes it more watchable.
Chapter 1: body placements
Chapter 2: combinations and miscellaneous
Chapter 3: fork and back of the hand
Chapter 4: boxes and Co.
Chapter 5: bodythrows and bodycatches
Don’t except too much of the bodythrow/catch stuff. Recently I didn't work much on bodythrows/catches. Therefore the focus is more on the other chapters.

Filmed at a bouldering spot just east of Perth innovatively called "Boulder Rock". The music is Illusion by VNV Nation.
The five main sequences show different families of siteswaps involving 1 or 2 high throws and juggling 4 or 3 balls underneath. The final 3 sequences involve different tricks with the lower balls, and the 4th sequence uses 75814 as the base pattern rather than 5.

This was filmed in 2005 (in my old kitchen in my old house) and is the routine that I did to win the 2005 WJF Ball Bouncing Competition. This is the day I made up the routine... Made up the 4 ball section, then filmed it... Made up the 5 ball section, then filmed it... you get the idea.

My first experiment with juggling related video editing. I filmed some half hour worth of footage on a nice summer day and tried my best to edit it down to a well-synched, fast cut, short, effectpacked music/juggling video.

Trick tips: 1) Practice each individual hand before combining the trick. 2) Use a fixed axle. 3) There is no easy way to master this trick other than practicing everyday. Special thanks to Dale! I've been juggling for a about a year and a half, and had 5 balls down (I thought) about a year ago, but now I'm having problems with my form. I'm having pain in my right shoulder and arm after a few hundred catches of 5 objects. As a side note, I do have some kind of muscle problem with my right shoulder now. I'm not sure if it's caused my by my bad form, or causes it, or is completely unrelated. I've been to a chiropractor 3 times now for it and I'm just wondering what to change. Thanks.
