This is the first of the "Cate Emily" videos. I give the title Cate Emily to videos that I feel make a statement about me. In other words something more serious than a quick practice video. I actually never even called myself "Cate Emily" until I made this video, but it started to stick, so I went with it...
The title is true by the way, I went off my medication (anti-depressants actually, but Ritalin is more catchy) and made this video in a four day burst of caffeine/ADD fueled burst of mania. Bet you didn't know that, huh?

Filmed at a bouldering spot just east of Perth innovatively called "Boulder Rock". The music is Illusion by VNV Nation.
The five main sequences show different families of siteswaps involving 1 or 2 high throws and juggling 4 or 3 balls underneath. The final 3 sequences involve different tricks with the lower balls, and the 4th sequence uses 75814 as the base pattern rather than 5.

My first experiment with juggling related video editing. I filmed some half hour worth of footage on a nice summer day and tried my best to edit it down to a well-synched, fast cut, short, effectpacked music/juggling video.

Trick featured in the video is two handed "reach for the moon" aka "shoot for the moon". Trick tips: 1) Practice each individual hand before combining the trick. 2) Use a fixed axle. 3) There is no easy way to master this trick other than practicing everyday. Special thanks to Dale! The juggling act I did in the annual Winter circus in Helsinki. It's made by Hurjaruuth and this year it was called Tuike which means twinkle. We did 76 shows in about 2 month! Heavy stuff :) It's me as Doctor Alby and Sergi Parés as Doctor Kivi.

Well this is me after one week of Contact Juggling, I know, pretty much a mess, I have a long way to go, and for some reason the presence of the camera made me serious and look a bit scary... I'm not like that when I practice, I smile, I promise! :)
