After all these years. Holy crap. it's been 8 YEARS since Kinetic Potential, and now, FINALLY I've gone and had the time and will to make juggling music video number 22. Good god life can suck sometimes keeping you away from doing awesome things on video for the internet heh. Though really, it's my own fault. The whole idea of the big music video series is that I would only do my absolute best tricks in them, and really only make new ones when I have a bunch of new personal bests to put in. Problem is, I hit my peak and plateaued with that 6 ring flat front qualify in the last vid, and so I feel like making another video is unjustified cause it's gonna have the same if not worse tricks in it. Welp, it's reflection of my current abilities since then, sooooo, guess it's better to showcase my decline/plateau than to be hidden forever XD

Place the inside of the elbow against the forehead and duck your head down out of the hat. The little drop to the side in the video clip is based on a move normally done with plates.
This trick links nicely to levitation.

Short clip of plate spinning on table from 4th Cirque de Demain 1980. The spinner is from the Cairo Circus School. It's only a short clip, but has some nice close-ups of the spinning technique.
This type of plate spinning used to be called "waltzing plates".

... and one very vocal ringmaster!
I believe this is from Spanish TV series Pista de Estrellas, which makes it around 1990.

This is a good video for anyone working on kickups, as the director seems to like closeups of his feet!

Senor Wences was a brilliant ventriloquist. This is one of his many appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show - he appeared on the show 23 times over its long life. Juggling was part of his act, and there are lots of clips online showing him doing the tray spinning, but this one contains more juggling than I've seen in any other clip.
He lived to age 103, and was still performing (in Sugar Babies) at the age of 90!

Australian variety performer Tex Glanville, showing his bottle & plate routine. Bottle & plate was one of the routines of the gentleman jugglers, and is mentioned in some of the old juggling books, but is not common today.
Tex was an exceptional rope-spinner, as well as a juggler and slackwire artist. He also made home movies of other performers - 'Elimar the genius juggler', #832 on this site, is one of his.

Ball spinning, head bouncing, 3 hats, 6 plates and a head bounce, ball and mouthstick, and fine row of 6 backflips (on skates!) to cap it off.
Found on home movies from The Maxwells - Australian comedy acrobatic duo, who worked in the Ice Capades with her.

Steve Rawlings showed me this trick in Birmingham and said that he used to do it in every show, but now that he's older (and a little rounder :-) he can't get it every time any more. Steve uses a china plate for this trick, but it works with hats too which is why it's here! :-)
Take the hat in your right hand, using an inside grip and hold it so that the crown of the hat is facing to the left.
Throw the hat virtically with some spin, and then do the following while the hat is in the air...
Put your right hand between your legs
Take the hand around the back of the right leg
Stand on your left leg and move the right hand & foot behind the left leg
Then, catch the descending hat in your right hand, from that position. Without falling over.
Top Tips: Practice the "tangle yourself up" bit first without the catch. Keep your eye on the hat as it decends, practice loads...
Luke Burrage managed to get this on video within 30 minutes. I've been trying for weeks and can't do it. It's pretty hard.
