The Place of Our Earlier Days

playpeople

In this world, there are two types of people; those who frolick along warm sandy beaches in shell suits, and those who don't. The divide is drawn in the sand, and a war is coming.

The Tornados I Knife throwing I The Good Old Days [1976]

escircofrenia

Knife throwing is the most common and well-known discipline within the impalement arts. It includes the throwing of axes, machetes and other sharp implements as well as knives./nTwo Tornados Irene and Rolf Stey are members of an old Swiss circus family who did a knife act between 1965 and 1985 and made various television appearances, including a performance at the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo. They are one of only two acts other than Elizabeth and Collins to have done the simultaneous combination of throwing from a tightrope and the wheel of death.

Things Are Looking Up

Vince

My friend Jamie who is currently studying film in Newfoundland came into town for a few days. Long enough to come up with some ideas and do some fun shooting. There's some ideas I've been working on for a while, some stuff we came up with on the spot and some technical things as well.

Toluca Jam feat. Jorge Vilchis

lucasadverse

This is the third part of my "jam" series which consists of original passing tricks with jugglers who have a similar style to mine. Jorge Vilchis is the person who motivated me to start juggling clubs and that’s why he’s the perfect fit for this series. This video was also a great end for my study abroad term in Mexico and I hope you enjoy it! tossing through seasons

potty92

Juggler: Bence Valkó Video & edit: Réka Bosznay /nThe whole project started as a lifestyle video in autumn, thanks to the last warm, sunny days. On a mild winter day we decided to continue and keep the recordings to make a one year long project season by season. The recordings were take accidentally: we didn't have a script etc. Nevertheless I like how the result of one year of practicing is so visible.

Trap N' Roll (One Year of Club Juggling)

lucasadverse

I decided to try clubs and this is a compilation of all the best doable ideas I had in one year of practice. Most of these ideas involve traps and rolls because I've always thought this style of club juggling looks dope thanks to the people mentioned in the video. I would like to especially thank Jorge Vilchis and Yerel Ahumada who are two great friends of mine who helped me in the beginning. I started by following their styles and I wouldn't have created most of my tricks if it wasn't for them. Lastly, I would like to point out that the reason I progressed so fast was that I focused on these types of tricks, and because of that I can't even do backcrosses or juggle 4 clubs LoL. Trixie Larue on ice... in colour!

bad1dobby

The astonishing Trixie Larue on ice. In glorious colour!! Ball spinning, head bouncing, 3 hats, 6 plates and a head bounce, ball and mouthstick, and fine row of 6 backflips (on skates!) to cap it off. Found on home movies from The Maxwells - Australian comedy acrobatic duo, who worked in the Ice Capades with her.

Une paire pour deux - Compagnie Tilos

Thoum

The Tilos Company presents the show "A pair for two", a duet based on diabolo passing with only one pair of sticks and one diabolo. The choice to make a whole act with such a few number of juggling props is a really intersting constraint that leads to an original technical research and brings the diabolo passing in a way no mutch developped.

Unscrambled B 'round tree

westwolf

Aidan Burns' Scrambled V Variation (iB cB sA) General information: The feeder is "A", the juggler to the feeder's left is "B" and the juggler to the feeder's right is "C". The feeder counts "1 2 3" to make it easier to keep track of where we are in the pattern. On beats 1 and 3, A (the feeder) and B exchange a pass. On beat 2, A and C exchange a pass. Walking: After pass three, B walks on a 4-count to the left side of A. All the jugglers are relabeled (A -> B', B -> C', C -> A') and the new feeder A' starts counting the 3 passes, starting with B'. The manipulation: 1. "iB": The manipulator (M) intercepts a pass from A to B. The juggler who was B is new M, and reads from the manipulator line. The juggler who was M now is B. 2. "cB": M carries a club to B. 3. "sA": M substitutes a the pass from B to A. How to do this pattern: We start manipulating the pattern by substituting the pass from B to A on beat three. You can skip the tree bit if you like.

Unscrambled LB: Aidan Burns' Scrambled V Variation (iA cC sB)

wmurray

Unscrambled LB, by Aidee Castro, Steve Healy, Rhonda and Will Murray (Long Beach, 2014). Part of the Aidan Burns Project to juggle all 27 of his Scrambled V variations. Special thanks to Steve Gerdes. Notation: __1__2__3 A: ps ps ps ->B B: ps ss ps ->C C: ss ps ss -> A M: iA cC sB -> M The feeder is A and the feedees are B (on A's left) and C. The feeder counts 1 2 3. On 1 and 3, A and B exchange a pass. On 2, A and C exchange a pass. On 3, B catches the pass and walks over by A, rotating the positions. 1. "iA": The manipulator M intercepts a pass from B to A. The juggler who was A becomes the manipulator, and reads from the manipulator line. The old manipulator reads A's line. 2. "cC": The manipulator carries a club to C. 3. "sB": The manipulator substitutes a pass from A to B (catches the pass and hands in a different club). Then all the jugglers are re-labeled (but not the manipulator) and the new feeder starts counting the 3 passes. Here, Rhonda starts manipulating at beat 3 above.
