This move evolved from the inside bit of 5 beat fishtails. Basically you are fishtailing on the inside bit of your thumb between your thumb and arm. This is fairly tricky to keep going so what I do (as you will see in the video) is add extra beats to keep the momentum going, this does technically declassify the move as a fishtail but I think it's quite a fun move and it feels nice to do.

This is filmed at Lake Monger, facing towards Perth's CBD. The music is Roads by Portishead.
It focuses on the orbits in various juggling patterns. Every juggling pattern is a combination of one or more orbits. Each colour in a pattern corresponds to a different orbit. An orbit is simply a path that a single ball follows. For example if you follow a red ball in a particular pattern, you will see it repeats through a set path. All the red balls in the pattern follow this same path; all the green balls follow their own different path and all the blue balls follow a third separate path.
One technical note: 97531 actually consists of 5 orbits - 91 clockwise, 91 anticlockwise, 73 clockwise, 73 anticlockwise and 5. I combined the two 91 orbits and the two 73 orbits to blue and green because it simply looks much better this way.

This is my summer 2010 juggling video. Unlike my last one, this thing is just juggling, none of those other distractions. The summer went a little off plan and for that reason I didn't get to juggle nearly as much as I had intended to. /nMy biggest problem was that I decided I was going to run 50 miles on August 1st. So all through June and July I was running a lot. . . like way more than you should, about 80 to 100 miles a week. Most every day I was juggling for a few hours, then running for a few hours, then studying for a few hours, then eating for a while. It turns out that it's bad for your body to do that. I lost 15 lbs in 4 weeks while I was eating 10,000 calories a day. As a result I wound up really immune compromised and I got shingles in late July. Shingles in very painful so I had to stop running and at that point I gained about a pound a day for almost 2 weeks. For those of you who have never experienced rapid weight fluctuations, they suck. Most jugglers think that poi spinners are smelly freaks who go to the desert to listen to trance music, but hopefully after watching this you will also see that those of us who choose to can create some quite difficult and technical tricks. /nIf you like my video please vote for it at www.juggle.org between April 1st and 4th. Normally I'm not a fan of people posting their artistic research and normally I would never post anything that wasn't carefully edited. I have no idea why I'm posting this or who would find it interesting but I've been working on a new act and going through old video clips looking for forgotten ideas. This is literally 3:58 of pure improv. One late night, one shot, one song, an empty room, lot of caffeine, a little juggling and a few emotions. There are drops. There are moments that are self-indulgent and overdone. Technical jugglers you will not like this. You guys that are interested in pure process may find it interesting.
