Teku Contact - Salaryman Part 1

Teku

TURN HD ON! Salaryman - A full length video combining contact bodyrolling, finger stalls and mixed props (Renegade Design Lab). I've made plenty of videos up until now but I felt like creating something more substantial for a change. The idea came several months ago during a very low point at my job (basically a lack of anything to do), so I've used all that pent up energy and frustration and decided to create some new ideas and see if I could take contact juggling somewhere that maybe hasn't been explored before. Theres plenty more to be done but this is a first step towards where I would like to be with my juggling in the future. I'm not interested in asking people to pay to watch or for donations (it just wouldn't feel right), I simply ask that if you like what you see, please share it! As long as it gets around and (hopefully) inspires somebody then it has done it's job. Download link (720p) - http://ge.tt/4JV3o9L/v/0?c Hope you like it!

Tennis Balls and Can - Tucson 2008

happysmurfday

Last summer I spent a few hours in the desert recording this for a collaborative video for Rec.Juggling in the summer of 2008, but unfortunately it was never used. This sequence was the genesis of another video I created (3 Balls, 1 Cup).

Trap N' Roll (One Year of Club Juggling)

lucasadverse

I decided to try clubs and this is a compilation of all the best doable ideas I had in one year of practice. Most of these ideas involve traps and rolls because I've always thought this style of club juggling looks dope thanks to the people mentioned in the video. I would like to especially thank Jorge Vilchis and Yerel Ahumada who are two great friends of mine who helped me in the beginning. I started by following their styles and I wouldn't have created most of my tricks if it wasn't for them. Lastly, I would like to point out that the reason I progressed so fast was that I focused on these types of tricks, and because of that I can't even do backcrosses or juggle 4 clubs LoL. Tricks With Hats: Steve Rawlings Twisty Hat Catch

TricksWithHats

Steve Rawlings showed me this trick in Birmingham and said that he used to do it in every show, but now that he's older (and a little rounder :-) he can't get it every time any more. Steve uses a china plate for this trick, but it works with hats too which is why it's here! :-) Take the hat in your right hand, using an inside grip and hold it so that the crown of the hat is facing to the left. Throw the hat virtically with some spin, and then do the following while the hat is in the air... Put your right hand between your legs Take the hand around the back of the right leg Stand on your left leg and move the right hand & foot behind the left leg Then, catch the descending hat in your right hand, from that position. Without falling over. Top Tips: Practice the "tangle yourself up" bit first without the catch. Keep your eye on the hat as it decends, practice loads... Luke Burrage managed to get this on video within 30 minutes. I've been trying for weeks and can't do it. It's pretty hard.

Tricks With Hats: Sweavo's Hatstand

TricksWithHats

The hatstand made its debut at chocfest 7, where I was compering. After a period of prototyping and refining, I built the version that worked. I demoed this a couple of times then it broke. I replaced the elastic and set it up for the big day, used it on stage and it worked, then broke next time I used it. Be prepared to spend significant tinkering time in between uses, and for frequent breakdowns. That said, it's never let me down when I've needed it. All in all I've found it a great way to get chicks[1], if you don't count the long evenings spent honing the design and strewing the house with geeky construction equipment, and the fact you'll be laughed out of most nightclubs if you go in wearing a topper. But on stage it works, and it has drawn admiring glances from fellow jugglers and even won us a bag full of croissants on one occasion. Tricks With Hats: Thumb Spins

TricksWithHats

Thumb Spins - Spin the hat around your thumb Hold the hat in an inside grip and spin it so the top of the brim stays in contact with the thumb. After a single spin catch it again in an inside grip. Once you've mastered singles try longer spins. This trick is very versatile and can be used to add lots of flourishes. Try adding one in anywhere that you use an inside grip, or just throw one in with your hand outstretched or up above your head. From the TricksWithHats archive

Viewpoints

seb

Viewpoints is a video experiment for a future project I'm starting to work on. The idea is to play around with the camera position and the playback speed while trying to utilise the music track to enhance the visuals. This video is just a rough experiment. It's not filmed in a nice location, I'm wearing my day to day clothes and everything was filmed without having any clear idea of how it would be used.

What do I need to change in my juggling form

PeterJuggler

I've been juggling for a about a year and a half, and had 5 balls down (I thought) about a year ago, but now I'm having problems with my form. I'm having pain in my right shoulder and arm after a few hundred catches of 5 objects. As a side note, I do have some kind of muscle problem with my right shoulder now. I'm not sure if it's caused my by my bad form, or causes it, or is completely unrelated. I've been to a chiropractor 3 times now for it and I'm just wondering what to change. Thanks.

White Balance

ShaneAndAaron

White balance changes the overall mixture of colors in an image and is used for color correction; generalized versions of color balance are used to get colors other than neutrals to also appear correct or pleasing. However, in this video we are simply balancing white clubs... just watch it.
