After watching 1 2 3 Vertax i was inspired to give 2D excalibur/vertax a go. After getting the hang of it after a day or 2, i tryed to do a sun trick and this is what came out. This was also submitted as a VOTW on D.CA but got rejected for "not being up to standards with what we are recieveing" I still think this is a great trick!

A compilation of 22 ideas filmed over 22 days, just filmed nice and quick (mostly) in my room. Usually I get lots of ideas at work and put them aside/forget about them so for a test I figure I'd document it and see what comes of it. Was going to do it longer but I want to let my wrist heal up a bit before JJF. Think I might have another go at this over the winter...

Rather than try to describe it, the community of ContactJuggling.org began this project to show you how each of us sees Contact Juggling. I've made plenty of videos up until now but I felt like creating something more substantial for a change. The idea came several months ago during a very low point at my job (basically a lack of anything to do), so I've used all that pent up energy and frustration and decided to create some new ideas and see if I could take contact juggling somewhere that maybe hasn't been explored before. Theres plenty more to be done but this is a first step towards where I would like to be with my juggling in the future.
I'm not interested in asking people to pay to watch or for donations (it just wouldn't feel right), I simply ask that if you like what you see, please share it! As long as it gets around and (hopefully) inspires somebody then it has done it's job.

I was asked to perform at JCJC fairly last minute, but seeing as I don't practice for performances I just stuck a few things I am comfortable with together. It had its problems but at least I didn't mess up. Might have to actually work on a proper routine sometime in the future though!

I was training in Stockholm in the now, during the summer abandoned circus hall. I decided to film one day and this is the result. It's basically just technique I am working on lately./nAnd there's a bonus material of the most un-clean 7 club flash in the history of juggling! :)

Finally got a new prop, and I got it exactly 1 week before filming, and that week was E3 week. All the gamers out there can figure out how much practice I had that week...but yea, I upgraded to new sticks, string, and length 2 days before filming, so it took a while for me to get used to it, even now it feels weird./nBut yea, the 2nd song was a light fun hearted song (for most of it), so that's why I wasn't too serious about editing, it just seemed to fit well having extended clips. I like it.

Getting closer to my goal of 10 seconds.
The images at the start from left to right are Enrico Rastelli (1920s), Leon Rabello (1936) and Paolo Bedini (1943).
The machine learning shows a genetic algorithm evolving a multi-layer perceptron neural network controller to perform the balance in 2 dimensions. A 2D rigid-body physics engine was used for the simulation. The performance of each trial was assessed based on the time balanced and the average 'uprightness' of the stack over the duration of the balance.
