Fishtail Fountain

Sandy

This came about through me and Tim messing about with antispin contact ideas and trying to work out how to antispin a fishtail. We came up with the antispin fishtail fountain and realised it could be done without antispin (obviously). Surprisingly the antispin version is easier as it doesn't try to fly off your hand as much. Starting in reverse do 1 beat behind you then go straight into a 180 fishtail carry upwards. As you come out of the 180 do 1 beat of forwards fishtail behind you and pull it out into a low 180 carry back the way you came. Repeat.

Fishtail Stalls + Throws

Sandy

Stalling fishtails is a nice way to go into other moves and can be the saving grace when you cock them up. If the staff starts sliding off your hand go into a stall and strike some cheesy pose (everybody loves cheese) and then just carry on. Throws are quite nice from stalls but you can also go into a halo roll or many varients thereof

Overhead Fishtails

Sandy

From forward with the right hand when the staff comes in front of you start the movement off as if you were going to do a 180 fishtail, but instead of taking the staff behind you (on the other side) you do a quick 360 and tuck your hand behind your head then go back into forward fishtails (it feels a bit like you untwisting your body underneth the staff). p.s. you don't really need to hold your chest wheil doing this move

Practice session clip

Zenoth

A segment from my practice session today. Drilling BtN (behind the neck) variations of things. It's still bumpy but progress is being made, slowly but surely. Posting on the web for concrit and tips from other jugglers. I start by showing the normal move I am doing/attempting, then proceed with attempted BtN variations of that move.

360 Halo

This move can be done in both directions and in horizontal and vertical planes. Place the staff on fairly slowly to start with.

Halo Roll

Sandy

This is a good move to start with if you are new to contact. Turn with the staff as it goes over your back so it lands on the opposite shoulder.

Antiturn Matrix

Sandy

A tiny bit easier than a matrix because you are turning into the staff. Look at the points you need to start turning, they are when you start leaning back to get it under the arm. Again very hard to get smooth.

Matrix

Sandy

The matrix. It's hard. That's why everyone loves it. You can do the matirx in 2 ways, starting on the neck like I do or starting on the shoulder like meg does here. To distinguish the difference I call this version a full matrix because it goes fully around your body and not just under both arms. I personally prefer the full matrix (well I would wouldn't I) because I think it looks nicer but it's all a matter of oppinion. The secret to getting a matrix is to really lean. It takes a while to get and takes even longer (a lot longer) to get it solid. As with everything practice, practice, practice.

1/4 Steve

Sandy

A good place to start before moving onto the steve. Do a neck roll and as the staff comes around onto your shoulder, drop that shoulder and let the staff roll onto your arm. Raise your arm with the staff (when the staff gets onto your arm it should be just below shoulder height, when the staff finnishes in your hand it should be just above head height) so that it rolls up it and into your hand.

Spirit Bomb Yo-Yo Trick / non-breakaway - Luke Renner (no audio)

stringslingernm

Spirit Bomb Yo-Yo Trick Instructional Video demonstrated by Luke Renner. Note: this video uses a non-breakaway mount. The breakaway is the standard throw for the trick. If you're learning tricks for a sports ladder contest practice the breakaway toss to start the trick the other steps are the same. The forward pass throw used in this demonstration gives extra momentum and spin time for completing the trick. The audio is intentionally left out on this video. Yo-Yo used in the demo is a Yoyofactory Speed Dial. Footage shot in Northwest New Mexico on 8/28/10 by Filmmakers George Thomas and Thomas LaRue. Trick details: Spirit Bomb is a yo-yo trick originated by Jeff Longoria. Trick name originates from the game Dragon Ball Z. Special Thanks and recognition to Ken's World-on-a-String, Sector-Y and all of the sites that pioneered and continue promote the "Art of Yo!" through videos on the web

Abandoning Burning Ships

Timaeschulze

Presented by: Vincent Janisch & Tim Schulze You just listened to: Errand Boy & El Ten Eleven & Lali Puna Okay guys, here it goes: We DON'T WANT TO WRITE A NOVEL, but on our last trip to LA-LA-LAND, we were faced by two guys called M.A.L.T.E. and MR. NOVEMBER. Both of them just came back from a journey to OHIO and invited us to barbecue some MARSHMALLOWS. After enjoying this delicious meal, the four of us decided to hit the TEXAS ROAD. We stopped at a small restaurant and ordered burgers with DOUBLE CHEESE AND NUGGETS. And now, HOLD ON TIGHT! Revitalized by this well prepared meal, our companions started to philosophize about BAD HABITS and BEing SHARPE. Quite cofused as we were, we didn't understand a word they were saying. They continued explaining to us that there were only a few decisions in life you really have to make : Choose carefully, if don't pick the right options you will end up having INTEGRAL ERRORS. Always remember: A.liens M.ight C.apture B.ad B.oys!
