A game branded as Gyro Ring in the past, here is a fabulously addicting prop composed of five brass washers (beads) strung onto a stainless steel ring.
To activate this prop you spin the brass beads and turn the larger ring to keep them going in perpetual activity. The ring can then be manipulated in various ways to perform a large range of tricks! This is a improv set slowed to 1/2x.
These rings were popular in Japan and New Zealand circa 1995-1997 but remained widely unknown to much of the rest of the world. A small selection of high quality rings are available online at my website SlingTrue.org

Been practising this trick for 2-3 months now with 4 rings and it's starting to be very solid. Just recently I added the 5th ring and it's starting to run as well! :)/nPlan is to perform it with 5 rings with a run of 10 bounces/20 catches within a year from now! Starting off with the base pattern of rotating 2 count 4 count feed, we then add the maniuplators to do 3B (Brook in blue t-shirt the B maniuplator, Steve in black t-shirt the 3 manipulator). Every 30 beats you get back to the start, and so every 30 beats the B/V manipulator (Brook at this point) switches to the other pattern and the 5 people do around of 3B/3V. We do 3B/3V/3B/3V and then try to exit the pattern.

I switch by doing the second column of the pattern I've arrived in (as manipulator) and then switching to the third column of the new pattern (and everyone responds accordingly).

October 2010 saw a collaboration between the Ministry of Manipulation and Aragorn Boulanger, aimed at teaching advanced level illusion techniques combining Contact juggling and dance.
The 5 days of workshops at the Juggling Center Berlin, run by Ed Adams and Aragorn, provided everyone with a huge amount of information and ideas.
Everything Aragorn was teaching could be directly applied to the techniques that Ed was teaching. The perfect collaboration...
So, where does it all go to from here...?
