title: Propeller Fishtails

description: Once you've got fishtails these arn't too difficult. At the end of every beat do 1 vertical propeller (wrap round your wrist) and fishtail back to the other side.

title: Fishtail Stalls + Throws

description: Stalling fishtails is a nice way to go into other moves and can be the saving grace when you cock them up. If the staff starts sliding off your hand go into a stall and strike some cheesy pose (everybody loves cheese) and then just carry on. Throws are quite nice from stalls but you can also go into a halo roll or many varients thereof

title: Antispun Fishtail Fountain

description: This came about through me and Tim messing about with antispin contact ideas and trying to work out how to antispin a fishtail. We came up with the antispin fishtail fountain and realised it could be done without antispin (obviously). Surprisingly the antispin version is easier as it doesn't try to fly off your hand as much. Starting in reverse do 1 beat behind you then go straight into a 180 fishtail carry downwards and in a straight line. Because it's antispin you need to move pretty fast in straight lines. When you get to the other side move your hand straight up and then straight across. This needs to be done in 1 beat. Try going through this holding the staff to your hand before fishtailing it to get used to feeling the path of spin.

As you come out of the 180 do 1 beat of forwards fishtail behind you and pull it out into a low 180 carry back the way you came. Repeat.

title: Reverse Elbow Fishtails

description: These can be done forwards and backwards. They arn't true elbow fishtails because there is only one beat of a fishtail at a time with other beats put in to get positioning. If anyone manages complete continuous elbow fishtails please let me know and i'll stick a vid up cos they are DAMN hard. The tricky bit of this move is getting your elbow across 180 fast enough to catch the fishtail but not so fast the staff flys off your elbow. (See also Elbow Fishtails)

title: Inside Fishtails

description: This move evolved from the inside bit of 5 beat fishtails. Basically you are fishtailing on the inside bit of your thumb between your thumb and arm. This is fairly tricky to keep going so what I do (as you will see in the video) is add extra beats to keep the momentum going, this does technically declassify the move as a fishtail but I think it's quite a fun move and it feels nice to do.

title: Foot Fishtails

description: As you can see in the vid the right leg works very much like the left arm in a conveyorbelt. When you get the staff onto the foot you need to turn into the staff so you end up in backwards fishtails. Once your into the fishtails you really need to turn your whole body each half beat to get it smooth (no easy task when your balancing on one leg and trying not to make jerky movements with the other).

title: Fishtail Passes

description: You need to be able to do forwards and reverse fishtails in both hands (or at least forwards with one and revers with the other) The rest is pretty self explanitory.

title: Fishtail Carries

description: This is basically a 360 fishtail done in one smooth motion. Try to keep your arm straight and follow the staff round in a big circle.
