Delirus | Unique Juggling&Dancing Performance by Henrik Veres

Henrik93

I’m a 4th generation circus arts performer.I started juggling at age 12, my very first performance was in 2007,at age 14. Improvements in the past few years: I always consider my main goal to show something new, unique and special to the audience when I perform my act. I always try to improve, to get better in what I do. In the past few years, I improved my contemporary dancing skills, and learned a new style dance: dubstep. I also learned how to get better with the 7 balls, I learned to juggle 9 and 10 balls, and my main goal now is to be able to juggle with 11 balls as well. Festivals attended: - 1st Hungarian Circusfestival (2012 January-February), Hungarian State Circus. - Les Feux De La Rampe Circus Festival (2012 october 10-15) - Muscat Festival, (Oman, 2013 december) -„Golden Trick of Kobzov”, Circus Kobzov (2014 June 26-29) Awards won: -The “Best Ground Act Award in England” (2009) -Silver Award at Feux De la Rampe Festival in France (2012) -Special price at the 1st Hungarian Circusfestival (2012)

Trick With Hats: Forward Twiddle

TricksWithHats

Forward Twiddle - Twiddle the hat off the head and back on. It's got comedy potential too! Allegedly. Use a palm-up fork grip on both sides the hat, and lift it off the head. Remove the ring fingers from the brim and twist the hat between the fore and middle fingers. Stop the spin by gripping the brim between the fore fingers and thumb. Reverse the process to return the hat to the head. You can get an easy laugh by getting the return part wrong and pretending to hit yourself in the face. Jon Lockwood (of Mushy Pea Juggling fame, now working as with "Company of Fools") did lots of hat workshops at juggling conventions in the mid to late 1990's and started Mike and LP out on the hat road. This was often the first trick he taught...so it's Jon and this trick that ultimately led to the creation of this site. Thanks Jon! From the TricksWithHats archive

Tricks With Hats: Screwdriver

TricksWithHats

Use a palm-up fork grip at the back of the hat and remove it, straightening the arm. As the arm straightens twist the wrist and take the ring finger off the brim. Spin the hat so that it moves between the middle and forefingers, then transfer the grip to the forefinger and thumb and continue the spin for as far as you can. Reverse the "twiddle" to place it back on the head. The main video clip for this trick doesn't show the fingers in any great detail. See the closeup version (120K mpeg) for a better view. For best results you might want to set your video player to loop the clip.

Tricks With Hats: Steve Rawlings Twisty Hat Catch

TricksWithHats

Steve Rawlings showed me this trick in Birmingham and said that he used to do it in every show, but now that he's older (and a little rounder :-) he can't get it every time any more. Steve uses a china plate for this trick, but it works with hats too which is why it's here! :-) Take the hat in your right hand, using an inside grip and hold it so that the crown of the hat is facing to the left. Throw the hat virtically with some spin, and then do the following while the hat is in the air... Put your right hand between your legs Take the hand around the back of the right leg Stand on your left leg and move the right hand & foot behind the left leg Then, catch the descending hat in your right hand, from that position. Without falling over. Top Tips: Practice the "tangle yourself up" bit first without the catch. Keep your eye on the hat as it decends, practice loads... Luke Burrage managed to get this on video within 30 minutes. I've been trying for weeks and can't do it. It's pretty hard.

Tricks With Hats: Sweavo's Hatstand

TricksWithHats

The hatstand made its debut at chocfest 7, where I was compering. After a period of prototyping and refining, I built the version that worked. I demoed this a couple of times then it broke. I replaced the elastic and set it up for the big day, used it on stage and it worked, then broke next time I used it. Be prepared to spend significant tinkering time in between uses, and for frequent breakdowns. That said, it's never let me down when I've needed it. All in all I've found it a great way to get chicks[1], if you don't count the long evenings spent honing the design and strewing the house with geeky construction equipment, and the fact you'll be laughed out of most nightclubs if you go in wearing a topper. But on stage it works, and it has drawn admiring glances from fellow jugglers and even won us a bag full of croissants on one occasion. Switching between scrambled 3V and 3B long run

brook_roberts

Starting off with the base pattern of rotating 2 count 4 count feed, we then add the maniuplators to do 3B (Brook in blue t-shirt the B maniuplator, Steve in black t-shirt the 3 manipulator). Every 30 beats you get back to the start, and so every 30 beats the B/V manipulator (Brook at this point) switches to the other pattern and the 5 people do around of 3B/3V. We do 3B/3V/3B/3V and then try to exit the pattern. Patterned invented by Aidan - see 'How to Steal From Your Friends' at http://www.juggle.me.uk/passing/ where 3,V,B and transitions between them are described. In Aidan Notation (X, Y, Z are the jugglers): X: Ps | Ps | Ps Y: Ps | ss | Ps Z: ss | Ps | ss 3: cZZ | sZX | iXY V: cXY | sYY | iXZ B: iXY | cYY | sYX I switch by doing the second column of the pattern I've arrived in (as manipulator) and then switching to the third column of the new pattern (and everyone responds accordingly).

I've finally worked out a relatively consistent way of doing this - it's a three ball split in that all three balls split in different directions. Feels better than it looks. Have repeated it a few times so don't worry if you blink at the wrong moment.

3 Ball New School Juggling

lucasadverse

I know the title sounds a bit corny but why not use such a cool term? This is a compilation of me performing part of the tricks I've come up with in the last 3 to 4 months. The main purposes of this video are to introduce new concepts and share ideas of tricks and connections between them so please, don't criticise my lack of symmetry or the lack of endurance because I'm pretty aware of it. Inspirations: Kohei Yamashita, Stefan Sing, Darren Donelle and Amadeusz Kołak. Music: Bakermat - Black Cat John Brown Gang Starr - Full Clip Props: Norwiks (75mm and 70g). Grad School 1

ultimatewannabe

I've been in grad school for 18 months now and it's been a difficult trip. Certainly more time consuming than undergrad but after the first semester I managed to find time to balance life out a bit more, resume volunteer work and circus training. The tricks in this video were mostly filmed over Thanksgiving and Christmas break and almost entirely involve backcrosses with clubs mainly because that's what I'm most excited about sharing at the moment. My knees gave me some problems several years ago and it's made me too paranoid about re-injuring them to do 360 tricks on an un-waxed floor. It's not any loss to the viewer as I haven't learned any new spin tricks in a long time. This is not to say I don't give them the effort, just that I haven't improved on them for a while. There are 360 tricks I could do in high school that I can't do much better these days despite the 6 years of practice that have passed. There are no balls in the video because I couldn't find a way to film them clearly and there is not
