Apparently, the 4 ball version wasn't good enough for bLUe/shaDOw :), so here's the 3 ball version.

My friend Jamie who is currently studying film in Newfoundland came into town for a few days. Long enough to come up with some ideas and do some fun shooting. There's some ideas I've been working on for a while, some stuff we came up with on the spot and some technical things as well.

Here's a non-trailer trailer for an upcoming mini-series of Boppo's Whiteboard ... namely, several different methods to calculate or deduce transition sequences between excited-state siteswap tricks. If you know the get-in and get-outs, that's enough to make transitions. If you know of or can find a trick that has states in common with the tricks you wish to transition between, that is enough to make transition sequences. If you know the states themselves and can find throws to convert between them, that too is enough. Also, if you can give the total arrival schedule, if you will, of the entire sequence you wish to have transitions within, that too enables you to deduce possible transition sequences. They all work for synch, too, but the last is maybe the best method for me.

Primary yo-yos used in the demonstration by Luke Renner were created by: Russell, Playmaxx, Tom Kuhn, Monarch and includes a generic red & yellow plastic yo-yo (cameos by Hummingbird & Duncan). Yo-yo topic covered in this instructional video is the different types of primary yo-yo shapes. The three covered are traditional, slimline/midline/Russell and butterfly yo-yos. This is my first entry for the first World Juggling Video Federation (WJVF) contest. The theme is "Traces of Plagiarism"... I was worried that I wasn't going to have enough time to make the video I'd been planning to make, so I whipped this one up in an hour or so.

Two tricks in one shot.

While filming for a new video I foud this cool bus and filmed a few tricks, then I thought it was enough for a little video!! It's 3 clubs manipulation with some original tricks in it! If you throw a ball high enough, you can drop the next one, stop, pick it up, and restart before the high throw returns. 1996.

FINALLY! Alright, so we've got a lot of good stuff in here, like 8 catches of a 6 ring full reverse, 5 ring half shower, 5 ring full reverse double qualify, a 5 ball mills, 5 ring pancakes, 8 ring flash, 7 ring qualify, and a 4 box move I call "Impossible". Sorry about the massive wait, I got a job and didn't have a single place to practice any move that needed more than an 8 foot ceiling. That AND After trying to use Sony Vegas with my regular video editing style, I found it to be 300 times more work (exactly, not an estimate) than to just use Windows Movie Maker. Or course the problem is Movie Maker got corrupted on my computer somehow and doesn't want to work correctly anymore, so I had to mash this thing together in movie maker and vegas, and save it piece by piece before finally recombining it tonight. Thus, the editing isn't the BEST in the world, but I think it's good enough, I absolutely did NOT want to release this after the IJA. Once the next semester starts, I'm sure I'll be getting even BETTER f

me and tony where experimenting with early quads and quints, we managed to put an early quad into 6 club 4 count but only got the 5 club version on video, the ceiling wasnt high enough for quints.

The variation of 522 Mills Mess where the 5 is thrown from the uncrossed position. Notice how it's just a reverse cascade thrown high enough that you can cross and uncross your arms after each throw.

The balls are programmed to be a certain colour determined by the vertical distance from my hand. The colour ranges from purple at the bottom up through blue, green, yellow, orange to red at the top of the highest throw - like a rainbow. It requires fairly precise timing to keep in sync with the programmed timing. Some siteswaps I do a good job with it; others are not quite as in sync. A couple of weeks ago I filmed Ewan juggling three stage balls at the Durham Juggling Convention. Using my editing software I then tracked each ball individually to highlight the movement of the balls and the patterns they make. The results were very interesting. Check them out. I'd love to hear you comments on this video and any suggestions on how i can develop the idea in the future. I am planning to film more interesting patterns with more objects but i thought three would be enough for now. I'll also film it using more light so i can film at 1/200 or 1/500 exposure instead of 1/100 so the balls don't blur. Any way, I hope you enjoyed it.
