This is filmed at Lake Monger, facing towards Perth's CBD. The music is Roads by Portishead.
It focuses on the orbits in various juggling patterns. Every juggling pattern is a combination of one or more orbits. Each colour in a pattern corresponds to a different orbit. An orbit is simply a path that a single ball follows. For example if you follow a red ball in a particular pattern, you will see it repeats through a set path. All the red balls in the pattern follow this same path; all the green balls follow their own different path and all the blue balls follow a third separate path.
One technical note: 97531 actually consists of 5 orbits - 91 clockwise, 91 anticlockwise, 73 clockwise, 73 anticlockwise and 5. I combined the two 91 orbits and the two 73 orbits to blue and green because it simply looks much better this way.

This is my summer 2010 juggling video. Unlike my last one, this thing is just juggling, none of those other distractions. The summer went a little off plan and for that reason I didn't get to juggle nearly as much as I had intended to. /nMy biggest problem was that I decided I was going to run 50 miles on August 1st. So all through June and July I was running a lot. . . like way more than you should, about 80 to 100 miles a week. Most every day I was juggling for a few hours, then running for a few hours, then studying for a few hours, then eating for a while. It turns out that it's bad for your body to do that. I lost 15 lbs in 4 weeks while I was eating 10,000 calories a day. As a result I wound up really immune compromised and I got shingles in late July. Shingles in very painful so I had to stop running and at that point I gained about a pound a day for almost 2 weeks. For those of you who have never experienced rapid weight fluctuations, they suck. The balls are programmed to be a certain colour determined by the vertical distance from my hand. The colour ranges from purple at the bottom up through blue, green, yellow, orange to red at the top of the highest throw - like a rainbow.
It requires fairly precise timing to keep in sync with the programmed timing. Some siteswaps I do a good job with it; others are not quite as in sync.

Normally I'm not a fan of people posting their artistic research and normally I would never post anything that wasn't carefully edited. I have no idea why I'm posting this or who would find it interesting but I've been working on a new act and going through old video clips looking for forgotten ideas. This is literally 3:58 of pure improv. One late night, one shot, one song, an empty room, lot of caffeine, a little juggling and a few emotions. There are drops. There are moments that are self-indulgent and overdone. Technical jugglers you will not like this. You guys that are interested in pure process may find it interesting.

Spirit Bomb Yo-Yo Trick Instructional Video demonstrated by Luke Renner. Note: this video uses a non-breakaway mount. The breakaway is the standard throw for the trick. If you're learning tricks for a sports ladder contest practice the breakaway toss to start the trick the other steps are the same. The forward pass throw used in this demonstration gives extra momentum and spin time for completing the trick. The audio is intentionally left out on this video.

I got 3 diabolo suns! Now I can get them nearly everytime, but please will somedoby please tell me how to do 3 diabolo shuffles? I find them harder than the sun, if you'll believe that. I finally got a hover sart as well, and the other day I got 16 or so otts.

Going through as many variations of finger stall that I can think of. In a few cases I just did the index and middle fingers as putting them all in would take forever and be pretty boring to watch too. If anyone has any more ideas for different stalls let me know please!

This was my selection video for the Japanese Juggling Festival championships. Unfortunately, I just found out it wasn't good enough to get through...in case you were wondering, up to 2 or 3 misses is generally fine, I felt like the end was small enough to forgive. As for next year, I'll try again, and now this vid is out there I need some harder tricks...
