Monterrey Jam feat. Cinthia Buitrón “La Flaka”

lucasadverse

As a continuation to my “jam” video series, I was able to collab with another prominent Mexican juggler during my study abroad experience in Mexico. This time I have a female juggler for the first time in this series, and I am very honoured that this juggler is La Flaka. La Flaka is known for being the first (or only) juggler in the history to explore the top-of-the-head balance in the midst of tricks. Before her, jugglers had done patterns while holding that club balance, but no one was ever able to actually integrate the top-of-the-head balance with different siteswaps and body rolls. After hanging out with the Unicirclo Laguna crew in Monterrey for a week, I noticed the potential for modern passing tricks with her and I decided to visit them once again in order to record this video. Thank you Tinoco, Flaka and Leonardo Icaza for making this possible and for being extremely kind and welcoming! Full video with better quality and more details on YouTube!

Rhondabout

Ed_Clark

The classic Roundabout pattern revisited in the Rhonda Style to create "Rhondabout". Rhonda Style came about from the pattern MinuEd http://juggling.tv/15002, but it is possible to Rhonda any pattern using these simple rules: 1. No Zipping! 2. No Flipping, apart from on a carry where you must flip both clubs. MinuEd is here: http://juggling.tv/15650 Try and Rhonda a manipulator pattern today!

Tricks With Hats: Coat Peg

TricksWithHats

Coat Peg - Throw the hat up to an upstretched hand Hold the hat in an inside grip at waist height and throw it with half a spin to the upstretched hand. The key is to spread the fingers on your throwing hand as much as possible and hold your catching hand in a coat peg grip. The hat lands on your thumb like it's landing on a coatpeg. Tricks With Hats: Coat Peg (same hand)

TricksWithHats

A nice variation on the Coat Peg. Hold the hat in an inside grip at waist height and throw it upwards with half a spin. As the hat flies upwards quickly stick your throwing hand up in the air and catch it. The key is to spread the fingers on your throwing hand as much as possible and hold your catching hand in a coat peg grip. The hat lands on your thumb like it's landing on a coatpeg.

Tricks With Hats: Knock to Foot

TricksWithHats

Place your palm flat on the back of the head for a neck chop and knock the hat upwards with the little finger side of the hand. A few tries and you will see how much force is required to get it to spin 3/4 and land on your foot. You need to flex your foot as much as possible to stop it slipping off.

Derek Scott - eat the apple ca.1990

bad1dobby

This is the one eat-the-apple routine that actually makes me laugh (with the possible exception of Michael Davis). It's Derek Scott (Canadian) on the Australian children's TV show "Agro's Cartoon Connection" (Agro is the puppet). From the early 1990s.

Tricks With Hats: Throw to Foot

TricksWithHats

Throw to Foot - Throw the hat to your foot as if it was a hatstand. Hold the hat crown up above the shoulder with an inside grip. Lift the leg and keep it straight, flexing the foot as much as you can. With a flick of the wrist throw the hat straight to the foot with a single spin. This trick looks best if the throw is as straight as possible. Foot to Head is a nice return trick from here.

TricksWithHats: Plates - Twistover

TricksWithHats

Start with plate flat on your right hand. Swing it in a full anti-clockwise circle, twisting your wrist over at the top so the plate finishes back in its original position with your shoulder and wrist twisted to support it. Reverse the move to unkink your arm. It's also possible to stop the plate at the top of the circle and bring it back down the way it came. From the TricksWithHats archive

three ball collision with rainbow

hexagonic

my new trick. In theory, it starts with an impossible collision (where all three balls peak at the same time, at the same height - in theory) and tapping the outside balls to a rainbow and into three ball cascade.

Box Traps

This is a trick more commonly done with clubs, diabolos, or devil sticks but I think it translates nicely with cigar boxes. These are just a few of the many possible variations that I'm working on.

How to bind you fire torches

petje-the-clown

Fire torches wear after long use, they should be bound with a new New wick. This video shows how you can bind torch again. Use grease for easy turning the screw, turn the wick without grease and it is impossible.

Thomas Mayer #5

tomjuggles

I spent a very long in filming and editing this video.I tried to take care also about the background, weather and a clean execution of the tricks, not only the technical juggling level ;)/nSorry about the missing ring juggling, but weather/wind make it almost impossible for me to practise some hard ring juggling... I hope you like it anyway ;)
