This was my selection video for the Japanese Juggling Festival championships. Unfortunately, I just found out it wasn't good enough to get through...in case you were wondering, up to 2 or 3 misses is generally fine, I felt like the end was small enough to forgive. As for next year, I'll try again, and now this vid is out there I need some harder tricks...

A game branded as Gyro Ring in the past, here is a fabulously addicting prop composed of five brass washers (beads) strung onto a stainless steel ring. To activate this prop you spin the brass beads and turn the larger ring to keep them going in perpetual activity. The ring can then be manipulated in various ways to perform a large range of tricks! This is a improv set slowed to 1/2x. These rings were popular in Japan and New Zealand circa 1995-1997 but remained widely unknown to much of the rest of the world. I came up with this theme after I realized that me and my audience like 2 different types of things, most of the time anyway (of course there are exceptions). I like small number, smooth and flowy stuff, not necessarily easy, but stuff I can do with 95% confidence. My audience, from what I gathered in public practices and youtube comments, they like the stuff I can sometimes do on a good day. Originally this was going to be a my favorites and best videos. June 2010 SunRise Kendama Mini-Edit/nTwo brand new SunRise Kendama's (one black, one white) arrived in the post today from Czech Republic (courtesy of http://www.kendama.cz/ - thanks Mirek!). The Fire Fly is a small but tricky fire toy. It is made mainly for dancers, but it can be nice magic trick or use for manipulation.
