The tricklist for the Advanced Knockout division of the British Kendama Open 2014.

Spent the weekend working with Brecken Rivara. Here's some of the stuff we came up wtih.

Candle grip weak hand body catch to strong hand pen grip big cup.

Two poles of different lengths balanced simultaneously on the head, as well as some other balancing tricks. This is know as a dual or twin inverted pendulum in control systems engineering. In the first 2 clips I use a long pole that is 4 times the length of the short pole. In the 3rd clip the long pole is only 3 times as long and is more difficult. The poles fit together in sections so that I can pack them in my bag. They're made from a cheap Argos wardrobe. The ball on the end of the long pole is mainly there to make the end more visible. I'm using rubber chair leg feet at the bottom end of the poles. Music is 'Heartbeats' by The Knife.

The manipulators in this pattern are dependent, as clubs are taken by one manipulator and replaced by the other. 4 count static Y base, with B at the back of the Y, D in the middle of the Y, A on the left of the Y (from the point of view of D and B) and C on the right. Watch in HD! My first trip to WJD Osaka. It was held over 2 days and had an attendance of over 700 people in total. Some truly amazing things went down, hopefully this will give you an idea of what it was like. You may have noticed Nick Laffey in there as well, he happened to be in Japan this week so it was perfect timing. Anyone coming to Japan give me a shout and I'll help you out with interpreting or getting you around to the various juggling clubs in Tokyo/Yokohama. Honestly even if you don't know Japanese it's no problem, juggling is the best communication.

I've only been playing kendama seriously for 5.5 years, so it's obviously rather early for me to be releasing a solo video, so I apologise for my hastiness.
