Aaron DeWitt: a short juggling film by Norbi Whitney

norbi

I have always been disappointed with the average amount of care which goes into juggling videos, compared to those of the acrobatic or extreme sports communities. I present to you my first ever HD juggling film project. Shot entirely with a Canon T2i, at 720p and 60fps. Filmed during just 30 minutes on a cold December morning. Edited using Final Cut Pro and Motion Directed, filmed and edited by Norbi Whitney Starring Aaron DeWitt Music: "Another Wave from You" and "New Map" by M83 Also available at: http://vimeo.com/33137753 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-dQw1XorLQ

Teku Contact - 19 - New Life

Teku

New ideas, new props, new life. Had the idea for a long time to mix contact with other props (in particular the RDL props), so I gave myself a challenge of trying to come up with some mini routines over the summer. Still in the early stages but its somewhere I want to look into more. Going to live in Japan permanantly from the 30th so its a kind of goodbye UK/home vid. After a very long wait its time to start a new life. If you like the props go have a look here http://www.renegadesignlab.com/

6 Ball Practice

joddle23

An excellent 6 ball practice for me. I got the first 6 ball run on my first attempt. My last run is now my current record, at 120ish catches. /nOther notable tricks include 864, kick-up from 5 to 6, and a 5 ball shower multiplex start into a high-mid-lo shower.

California

BrentFiasco

Some highlights of the 2011 Isla Vista festival and post-fest juggling in Lancaster, CA and at Vasquez Rocks. The other jugglers were Jonathan Redman, Jennifer Szabo, Beejay Joyer, Matthew Thornley, Steve (TheGoHeads), another guy who was also good at teaching that 2/3 count passing pattern, Rhonda and Will, and featuring an aggressive beast-woman who collects video of the people she follows around while needlessly and sweatily shouting "harassment".

a little story... (Part 2)

DarthDiaboloMan

If you haven't seen Part 1 yet, I recomend you to watch it first. I am really proud of this part :). This time I took my time to film the tricks smoother and I also thought of what I could do with editing the video, so that there are no black screens at all. This time the story is also without any break, you can see the whole one. I don't know if there will be a Part 3 yet, I will think of it. Enjoy ;)

Continuous Antispun Conveyor Belt

Sandy

These are a nice varient of conveyor belts. First learn to do continuous. When the staff is falling off your last elbow, raise that elbow and bring your other elbow underneath to catch it by sort of hugging yourself. Give the staff a bit of a pop as it comes off so as to give yourself a little more time to catch it. When you've got that add the antispin by moving each point of the move to the antispin points (watch the video).

Convoyor Belt

Sandy

Another good move to start with, this is just a reverse elbow wrap followed by a forwards elbow wrap but in wall plane (spinning in front of you as if you were facing a wall). As with all contact, don't let go of the staf untill your hand is touching the contact point (in this case the outside of your elbow). This helps give a nice smooth contact roll. As the video shows this move can be done with hands apart (adding an extra beat) or together. It also leads nicly into pivots.

Neck Propellers

Sandy

I learnt these trying to get the matrix. The way you lean and shift your body is very similar to how you would for a matrix but easier. I go in from a horizontal pivot because it gets the staff nicly in plane. Once the staff is on your neck lean away from the staff and let it spin around the back of your neck. Then do the same in the other direction to get it back round the front. Useing your shoulders to push the staff round can help.

SNES

Sandy

Go in underarm leaning in the opposite direction to the hand the staff is in. Do a shoulder roll at a slight angle and lean into the staff. As the staff travels across your neck continue to lean into it shifting your weight across. Catch under your other arm.
