Dolby 7.1 Tutorial

Ed_Clark

Dolby 7.1 is the latest in the series of patterns that have manipulation similar to the classic Dolby Söround http://juggling.tv/1742 In this new pattern, we add a club to the Dolby 5.1 pattern, first shown http://juggling.tv/16656 Dolby 5.1, Dolby 5.2 and Dolby 7.1 were all composed together as a set. Seeing as Dolby 7.1 is another step up in the difficulty of manipulator patterns I've not gone with a standard pattern video, but instead added some training patterns - like a workshop. Workshop tips: 1. Keep the tempo slow when you are throwing the heffs - you are controlling the pattern speed. 2. The manipulation needs to be a little faster than you might do it in Dolby 5.1, as the tempo is set by the dwell+height of the heffs. Slow manipulation can introduce timing problems for catching the 4p4p. 3. Heffs (4) and double passes (4p) must be the same height in order to keep good timing. 4. The pattern is synchronous.

Juggle Dream Aurora & Luxor LED Hoop

JuggleDream

Luxor - 160 Aurora - 80 LED Hula Hoop. The Juggle Dream Luxor is simply the best and brightest hoop we have ever seen. 160 super bright RGB LEDs allow over 300 stunning functions including solid white, red, green, blue, yellow, cyan and magenta; as well as far too many changing effects to even begin to mention (all with variable speed control:). All these functions are available at the tip of your fingers, using the mini remote control and up to 16 of your favourite functions can be pre-set for instant access using the custom play list.

Alternatively, the RF Wireless remote is effective up to 50m, so can easily be operated by someone offstage. Being wireless, rather than infra-red, no direct line of sight needed to operate this remote. The Luxor is powered by 5 mains rechargeable Lithium batteries which are equally spaced around the hoop to maintain optimum balance. Charging takes up to 6 hours and the LED

Tricks With Hats: Wipe Up Arm Roll

TricksWithHats

This is a combination of parts of two other tricks, so it would probably help to learn them first. They are the Arm Roll and the Wipe Up Start with the hat on your head. With the right arm, do the first part of a wipe up, just to the point where the hat comes off your head. However, instead of carrying it out to the side, push the hat back on your head so that the bottom of the brim comes into contact with your shoulder blades. Use your upper arm to push the hat off and to the left, so that it can roll down your arm as though you were doing an Arm Roll, catching it in you hand as you do so One variation that Mike is fond of, is to grip the front part of the crown with the crook of the elbow. Mike claims this gives him more options, and more control over where the hat goes. Try it, it may work for you too!

Cubiletes / Shaker Cups

Jugglar

Songs: How To Party (Ft.

Dual Balance

peterbone

Two poles of different lengths balanced simultaneously on the head, as well as some other balancing tricks. This is know as a dual or twin inverted pendulum in control systems engineering. In the first 2 clips I use a long pole that is 4 times the length of the short pole. In the 3rd clip the long pole is only 3 times as long and is more difficult. The poles fit together in sections so that I can pack them in my bag. They're made from a cheap Argos wardrobe. The ball on the end of the long pole is mainly there to make the end more visible. I'm using rubber chair leg feet at the bottom end of the poles. Music is 'Heartbeats' by The Knife.

3 ball stack progress 3 - plus machine learning

peterbone

Getting closer to my goal of 10 seconds. The images at the start from left to right are Enrico Rastelli (1920s), Leon Rabello (1936) and Paolo Bedini (1943). The machine learning shows a genetic algorithm evolving a multi-layer perceptron neural network controller to perform the balance in 2 dimensions. A 2D rigid-body physics engine was used for the simulation. The performance of each trial was assessed based on the time balanced and the average 'uprightness' of the stack over the duration of the balance. http://www.mathworks.co.uk/matlabcentral/fileexchange/36911-machine-learning-balancing-a-stack-of-balls

rhythm - part3 (Pomet Phantom Patterns)

congasious

The final part of the "Rhythm" trilogy, palm spinning as graphic manipulation. I wanted to show also some new ideas that i work on, so some patterns are clean some are not. New techniques used in here: - quarter spins - individual changes of the starting point (point of control) - 1/8 spins (the diagonal spin-spin & anti-spin, the "cross" & the "X") - perpendicular spin-spin and anti-spin - advanced phantom patterns using the techniques above In this video there are 2 Phantom Patterns analyzed in four different ways each (4 balls, 3 balls, 2 balls same colour and 2 balls different colour): Pattern, a) 0:19-1:29 Pattern, b) 2:29-3:32

It is a dialogue between three jugglers and a folk musician concerning objects, riddles, puzzles and other important things. Projekt NMN is true poetry of contemporary circus, a visual poem of all that exists. work in progress 2.5. -7.5.2012 at Supiainen residency, Eräjärvi. Cage Steve

Sandy

This move is lots easier to do if you turn with the staff to slow down the spin. That said you will still probably hit yourself in the face learning it. When you are raising your arms back up to roll the staff down th inside of your arm, try to be as controlled as possible because that is the most likly place you will hurt yourself. Mind you if you already do staff another couple of knocks won't make any difference.
