This is my summer 2010 juggling video. Unlike my last one, this thing is just juggling, none of those other distractions. The summer went a little off plan and for that reason I didn't get to juggle nearly as much as I had intended to. /nMy biggest problem was that I decided I was going to run 50 miles on August 1st. So all through June and July I was running a lot. . . like way more than you should, about 80 to 100 miles a week. Most every day I was juggling for a few hours, then running for a few hours, then studying for a few hours, then eating for a while. It turns out that it's bad for your body to do that. I lost 15 lbs in 4 weeks while I was eating 10,000 calories a day. As a result I wound up really immune compromised and I got shingles in late July. Shingles in very painful so I had to stop running and at that point I gained about a pound a day for almost 2 weeks. For those of you who have never experienced rapid weight fluctuations, they suck. I liked how this one turned out. It's not my usual style of 1 straight take, this one has edits. I had to do edits for various reason. I also forgot a trick I can do very well, behind the back catches with my new toys, and I'm mad I forgot that since I spent a good 3 days straight practicing it. Like I said in the intro, I've only been doing rings for 2 weeks (well 2 weeks and 2 days) and I pretty much haven't done anything at all except them.

Just a quick show of two weeks worth of learning balls :) I have been able to do basic cascade for awhile... but only just started to learn tricks.

For the past weeks I have been playing around with different kick up variations. This is the result. A short video with some kick up tricks and balancing. Most still very rough, though. I made myself a mission to film at least one trick every day for 3 weeks. I could only film for maximum 15 minutes every day. And this is the result!

just a combo i trained the last weeks

A couple of weeks ago I filmed Ewan juggling three stage balls at the Durham Juggling Convention. Using my editing software I then tracked each ball individually to highlight the movement of the balls and the patterns they make. The results were very interesting. Check them out. I'd love to hear you comments on this video and any suggestions on how i can develop the idea in the future. I am planning to film more interesting patterns with more objects but i thought three would be enough for now. I'll also film it using more light so i can film at 1/200 or 1/500 exposure instead of 1/100 so the balls don't blur. Any way, I hope you enjoyed it.

I finally finished a new video of my juggling which i wanted more and more during the past months. The final result shows some ideas in editing that i like as well as some tricks and combinations that are brand new for me. The wind during the last weeks was a little annoying (you'll recognize). I've been wanting to go to a juggling club for a long time, but the closest one is and hour and a half away. Well, it's been really rainy this weeks so my dad thought we could make the trip. I had a blast with my sister Lilly and all the other guys at the club. I learned a ton of new juggling passing patterns that I've never had a chance to do.
