Dopo quasi 5 anni dal primo approccio con la giocoleria, ecco che esce "Sparkle" o "Scintilla" (su ispirazione di una canzone dei Dropp), il video che esprime al meglio la mia intenzione di raggiungere la completezza nella manipolazione, tecnica ed artistica, delle palline. "Sparkle" è frutto di un intenso lavoro di allenamento e ricerca, filmato e montato interamente da me, tuttora diciassettenne. So i am trying to use what i find in juggling quickly and get on to the next thing to keep it interesting for me and other juggling enthusiasts. So i felt like i needed to make this video so the juggling didn't get forgotten and lost. (see PROCESS from more pretentiousness) HOW TO: For best results view film in full screen in a dark room with sound canceling headphones at least 2 hours after eating and no more than 15 minutes after reading fiction. This is a tutorial someone requested I make. It is also one of my entries into the International Jugglers' Association Tutorial Competition.
This tutorial is designed to help you learn 5 ball mills mess step by step, catch by catch. If you find the constant pauses annoying, you can simply skip to the slow motion parts and learn the trick that way. Either way is useful!

In 2004 Jonathan Jolly released a DVD called Completing the Circle, a documentary about the UK juggling scene filmed over 6 months in 2003. It's a wonderful snapshot of the UK juggling scene at the time, with great footage from various conventions and interviews with many of the jugglers who were on the scene during this period.
Jonathan has now decided to make this lost project freely available to the juggling community.

A couple of weeks ago I filmed Ewan juggling three stage balls at the
Durham Juggling Convention. Using my editing software I then tracked each
ball individually to highlight the movement of the balls and the patterns
they make.
The results were very interesting. Check them out.
I'd love to hear you comments on this video and any suggestions on how i
can develop the idea in the future. I am planning to film more
interesting patterns with more objects but i thought three would be enough
for now. I'll also film it using more light so i can film at 1/200 or
1/500 exposure instead of 1/100 so the balls don't blur. Any way, I hope you enjoyed it.

Home movie footage of Rob Murray practising in a garden. In his later years, Murray was known for his laid-back style of comedy juggling, so it is interesting to see him working on more technical tricks here, including 6 & 7 balls. Music is "Ultrafox" by Django Reinhart, tacked on purely because it was the right era, and the right length. Much thanks to Topper and LP for helping to bring this clip to light. I already liked Berlin, but this trip I found out that it's the best city in Europe for finding indoor practice spaces during winter, not to mention all the friendly jugglers and circus artists who live and train here. It's inspiring, fun, and very nice to be in a big city that supports and encourages juggling!

I was visiting my girlfriend and got asked to do a show at Marymount High School. I had limited props but had a good time. These kids had never seen a real juggler before. Strangely, the headmaster interrupted my performance to tell my how wonderful I was...you see her enter the court towards the end.
