Starting off with the base pattern of rotating 2 count 4 count feed, we then add the maniuplators to do 3B (Brook in blue t-shirt the B maniuplator, Steve in black t-shirt the 3 manipulator). Every 30 beats you get back to the start, and so every 30 beats the B/V manipulator (Brook at this point) switches to the other pattern and the 5 people do around of 3B/3V. We do 3B/3V/3B/3V and then try to exit the pattern.

In Aidan Notation (X, Y, Z are the jugglers):

I switch by doing the second column of the pattern I've arrived in (as manipulator) and then switching to the third column of the new pattern (and everyone responds accordingly).

This form of staff juggling now seems to be commonly called "fei-cha".
It comes from the traditional Chinese acrobatic repertoire, and in chinese acrobatics books and videos that I have seen it is translated as "trident manipulation".
The trident has loose elements at the head, which make the jangling sound - it's often a very noisy act.

This is part 1 of my second official juggling video. I have now been juggling for 16 months. Shots in this video were taken from many different locations including Colorado, Virginia, New Jersey, and Souderton, Pennsylvania (my hometown). And a special thank you to Peter Brubaker for teaching me how to juggle and giving me video editing tips that made this video way better than the first one. Zak has been teaching himself the Devil Sticks and is getting pretty good even though he's still at junior school. He's learned all these tricks by the ripe old age of 10 after owning a set for 3 years, practising occasionally! He doesn't think he's good enough to put on juggling .tv yet, so your feedback would be appreciated.

This video contains my latest ideas including some little experimentation with choreography and clubs. This time, I'm not mentioning any inspirations (although I obviously have inspirations in my style) due to the fact that I decided to exclusively include original ideas (except for the 5BBB). I hope you don't laugh at my clubs because they look small and noobish haha, it's 'cause I bought them when I first started juggling and I don't have other clubs D:

This is the video me and Jr. managed to record in 2 days of heavy practice and thinking. I am very happy that I had the opportunity to make a video with him because he is one of my biggest inspirations since I started juggling, and performing these tricks was easy due to our similar style of juggling. It was extremely fun to hang out with jugglers from Osaka and this was a great end for my student exchange program in Japan.
