The 2nd episode of Mainz Manipulation Mania.
This time you'll see the incredible Hagen, who studied at the circus-school "Etage" in Berlin before going to cirkus cirkoer (Stockholm) in 2003 where he developed most of his fine 3 club art showed in this video. He then broke his leg and decided to come back to Germany. From 2005 to 2006, together with Paul Lind, he created some nice 3 ball stuff. Hagen now lives in Frankfurt and teaches juggling and artistry at the Clownsschule Mainz.

A couple of weeks ago I filmed Ewan juggling three stage balls at the
Durham Juggling Convention. Using my editing software I then tracked each
ball individually to highlight the movement of the balls and the patterns
they make.
The results were very interesting. Check them out.
I'd love to hear you comments on this video and any suggestions on how i
can develop the idea in the future. I am planning to film more
interesting patterns with more objects but i thought three would be enough
for now. I'll also film it using more light so i can film at 1/200 or
1/500 exposure instead of 1/100 so the balls don't blur. Any way, I hope you enjoyed it.

October 2010 saw a collaboration between the Ministry of Manipulation and Aragorn Boulanger, aimed at teaching advanced level illusion techniques combining Contact juggling and dance.
The 5 days of workshops at the Juggling Center Berlin, run by Ed Adams and Aragorn, provided everyone with a huge amount of information and ideas.
Everything Aragorn was teaching could be directly applied to the techniques that Ed was teaching. The perfect collaboration...

To juggle 4 balls you will learn to juggle with 2 balls in the right hand and with 2 balls in the left hand. When you put it to together you end up juggling 4 balls! A full length collaboration film featuring mostly Israeli and non Israeli jugglers and performers. The dream like story takes the viewer from the carpentry where Ori himself was created by his father to a surrealistic journey. While traveling in his own mind using his imagination Ori meets several bizarre characters, each one master a different Juggling prop. It took a year and a half to create the film which was shot in Israel, Italy, Spain and Europe. P.T.P combines original editing style, Psychedelic animation and soundtrack. The plot is not laniary and hazy at times which gives a sense of confusion and fantasy. The film is highly recommended to those who appreciate visual art, music and Juggling.

I visited DPRK in September 2013 and was lucky enough to see the Mass Games twice. The show has around 100,000 performers and it tells the story of The Korean Revolution through synchronised dance, gymnastics and acrobatics. The giant picture on the far side of the stadium is created by 20,000 children, all with books of coloured cards, each book containing up to 170 pages. The scene at the start is their warm up. The show runs each year from July to September or October; you can watch as many videos online as you like, but to truly appreciate it, it's best to see it live.

Getting closer to my goal of 10 seconds.
The images at the start from left to right are Enrico Rastelli (1920s), Leon Rabello (1936) and Paolo Bedini (1943).
The machine learning shows a genetic algorithm evolving a multi-layer perceptron neural network controller to perform the balance in 2 dimensions. A 2D rigid-body physics engine was used for the simulation. The performance of each trial was assessed based on the time balanced and the average 'uprightness' of the stack over the duration of the balance.
