Contactjuggling.org Collaboration Video 2012

CasualArcane

*Note: Polilop is a typo. The artists name is actually PiloliP* Contact Juggling, an ancient art recently codified and popularized by Michael Moschen, is as indefinable as it is magical. Rather than try to describe it, the community of ContactJuggling.org began this project to show you how each of us sees Contact Juggling. Whether dance, juggling, mime, or magic (or perhaps all four or none at all), this video showcases years of hard work by artists across four continents, each bound together by a common interest but all unique in their study. Edited by Riel Green and Sennyo of Casual Arcane (Casualarcane.com) All music by Module (Modulemodule.com) Video by Contactjuggling.org and contact jugglers around the world! 10 Years of Not Juggling - Full Resolution

btiemann

I took a 10-year break from juggling, but am getting back into it. Here is my first collage. Music is Comets Over Flatland (15) by R. Winchester. It is written in 15-tone equal temperament, not the otherwise universal 12-tone equal temperament of western music. Filmed in late 2009. 0:04: 4: 61616 0:19: 5: ([4,4x],2)* 0:29: 7: ([6,6x],2)* 0:37: 4: 7161616 0:51: 5: 75751, 77771707771716661*, then 95551 a few times. * Trick was "spontaneous." 1:21: 5: 66661 1:31: 8: (8,8), 97, 8, (8x,8x) flashes 1:56: 5: 91 2:07: 6: 99919191 2:14: 8: 999999990 and 99999991 flashes 2:23: 9: 9 (9 catches then 11 catches) 2:40: 10: a (11 catches, Garfield Finish) 2:48: 5: 88171717 3:00: 6: 8844 3:07: 6: 868671 3:15: 6: b66661 3:23: 4: 80 (Actually, 6: 8[22]) 3:36: 6: 889191 (big brother of 6671) 3:42: 6: 78888171 3:51: 6: 8888181 4:00: 7: 88888817 4:05: 8: 97 4:11: 7: 8888881 4:20: 8: (8,8) (18 catches) 4:27: 7: 888891 - this is a really neat trick 4:32: 8: 8 (21 catches) 4:40: 10: a (17 throws, 10 drops)

Triathlon Juggling World Record

JugglingJoe

Juggling while completing a triathlon. (1/4 mile swim, 16.2 mile bike, 4 mile run) April 21, 2012 Joe Salter Hope you enjoy the video. Also, please spare me the "unicycle" suggestion comments or "you should have done a 3 ball cascade" while riding no-handed comments. If you don't know anything about triathlons, then those comments are very naive, because you have no idea what a race like this entails. I spent 10 months training, researching, and fine tuning what works. Until you actually get out there and see what "works" then try to understand that what looks good on paper, doesn't always translate into good practice. Enjoy! -Joe

Invisible Man

GbH

Some time ago, a Disney cartoon called 'Recess' featured a yo-yo trick called 'Invisible Man'. As such, yo-yo players are often asked if they can do the trick. Unfortunately, the trick - which involves shuffling a pair of shoes with two yo-yos, doesn't actually work. However, the comment did give me an idea....

Lakeside Orbital Juggling

Filthy999

This is filmed at Lake Monger, facing towards Perth's CBD. The music is Roads by Portishead. It focuses on the orbits in various juggling patterns. Every juggling pattern is a combination of one or more orbits. Each colour in a pattern corresponds to a different orbit. An orbit is simply a path that a single ball follows. For example if you follow a red ball in a particular pattern, you will see it repeats through a set path. All the red balls in the pattern follow this same path; all the green balls follow their own different path and all the blue balls follow a third separate path. One technical note: 97531 actually consists of 5 orbits - 91 clockwise, 91 anticlockwise, 73 clockwise, 73 anticlockwise and 5. I combined the two 91 orbits and the two 73 orbits to blue and green because it simply looks much better this way.

Teku Contact - 33 - Kakunihai

Teku

Performed at the Kakunihai event today, came second with this routine. I actually messed up the timing somehow (I went too fast?) so I ended up having to fill the gaps in a few places, but at least it wasn't too droppy. Time to make a better routine for JJF...

Best Method: Throw Sequence (Brute Force) Transitions

btiemann

If you want to only watch one, watch this one. /nHere's a method to generate siteswap transitions based on where all the balls actually land; making them all work out amounts to creating a sequence. This is my favorite method, and it produces rather easily, all the possible transitions within the context of the throws that you've decided to mess with, either out of necessity (when throws collide) or by choice (when they don't). /nIf you're trying to come up with a way to write an algorithm for producing transitions, I would suggest that this way is the best way. It's deterministic, for one, and it's comprehensive, for another. /nThis is part 1... stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion!!

Teku Contact - 24 - Doing some tricks in front of people at JCJC

Teku

I was asked to perform at JCJC fairly last minute, but seeing as I don't practice for performances I just stuck a few things I am comfortable with together. It had its problems but at least I didn't mess up. Might have to actually work on a proper routine sometime in the future though!

I went for a practice but the weather was really nice and there was a perfectly frozen lake, I couldn't resist filming something (some of the warming up combos of my practices actually) with the little battery I had left. As always, no so hard stuff but pretty solid (take into account the slippery surface). Hope you like it

Brook and Mark

brook_roberts

In which Brook finally accepts Mark will never learn interesting siteswaps and they do a bunch of 1-count and 2-count. With apologies to the Highgate jugglers for my betrayal of ambidexterity! Filmed in November 2016 when we didn't have to rehearse the passing routine for Camvention any more and enjoyed our freedom :) Thanks to Mark for indulging me and filming, Danny for the terrible 4 way combo that took me over two years to get good enough to actually do (and some of the other ideas), and Jon for filming a little sequence with me.

Monterrey Jam feat. Cinthia Buitrón “La Flaka”

lucasadverse

As a continuation to my “jam” video series, I was able to collab with another prominent Mexican juggler during my study abroad experience in Mexico. This time I have a female juggler for the first time in this series, and I am very honoured that this juggler is La Flaka. La Flaka is known for being the first (or only) juggler in the history to explore the top-of-the-head balance in the midst of tricks. Before her, jugglers had done patterns while holding that club balance, but no one was ever able to actually integrate the top-of-the-head balance with different siteswaps and body rolls. After hanging out with the Unicirclo Laguna crew in Monterrey for a week, I noticed the potential for modern passing tricks with her and I decided to visit them once again in order to record this video. Thank you Tinoco, Flaka and Leonardo Icaza for making this possible and for being extremely kind and welcoming! Full video with better quality and more details on YouTube!
