For me, the concept of a "Look Mum I made a juggling video" refers to a video that is made, not to introduce any new ideas to the juggling community, but rather made because it seems like the thing to do. That is why this film is entitled 'Dave's "Look Mum I Made A Juggling Video" Video'. This movie is intended as a parody on the "Look Mum" video genre. You probably won't learn any new tricks, but hopefully you'll have a good laugh. It should also be noted that this video features neither my true juggling potential nor my true personality. They are both facets of a character that I created for this movie. Enjoy.

This video was and still is one of my prouder accomplishments, mostly because it was released during a time when videos were downloaded and not streamed. They were also fewer and far between, and I think this is truly one of the first juggling music videos, in which the lyrics of the song were used to inspire content.
At the time it was released, I won a lot of praise on rec.juggling and despite tons of videos released since then, people still send me e-mails requesting a link to this video. And honestly, I think "Heart of a Champion" will always feel like personal theme music to me.
Enjoy and thanks to the wonderful community of jugglers, without whom it wouldn't be worth putting in all the effort to share something like this.

The 4th video in my tradition of after buying a new juggling prop, practicing with it for two days and then creating a video showcasing what I've come up with. This time the prop is shaker cups, compliments of my Dube sponsorship with JoJ, and I think that this is by far the best 48 hours prop I've tried so far. There's just so much in common with shakers and kendama/cigar boxes that they felt just nothing but natural.

I came up with this theme after I realized that me and my audience like 2 different types of things, most of the time anyway (of course there are exceptions). I like small number, smooth and flowy stuff, not necessarily easy, but stuff I can do with 95% confidence. My audience, from what I gathered in public practices and youtube comments, they like the stuff I can sometimes do on a good day. Originally this was going to be a my favorites and best videos. But really, my favorites are what I like, the best is what you like./nSo I hope you like my videos! Make sure to watch part 2 after!

Alex and I do a sequence where the 3 green clubs are isolated in 4 different patterns.
Start off with 7-club 3-count with the passes green.
Then do 8677867 with the passes as green.
Then 978 versus 972 with double passes as green.
Then 551 popcorn (a2a67) versus 5 count popcorn with trelfs as green.
Then back to 7 club 3-count.
As they are all ground state, the first 2 switches just work, and doing:
966|7867867 for the first
7867867|978972 for the second
preserves the colours.
For the third, to keep the colours we did three transition throws:
978972|867|a66a7a6267
For the fourth transition, to keep the colours we did:
a66a7a6267a66a7|b6266|966
I'd love to see similar ideas!

There are no prerequisites for learning headrolls, grab a ball and start practicing those stalls from day one./nStep 1 is semi-optional./nHead dents WILL occur, they are temporary and should be encouraged/nGood luck, these require patience but they are so so so worth it. Here's a non-trailer trailer for an upcoming mini-series of Boppo's Whiteboard ... namely, several different methods to calculate or deduce transition sequences between excited-state siteswap tricks. If you know the get-in and get-outs, that's enough to make transitions. If you know of or can find a trick that has states in common with the tricks you wish to transition between, that is enough to make transition sequences. If you know the states themselves and can find throws to convert between them, that too is enough. Also, if you can give the total arrival schedule, if you will, of the entire sequence you wish to have transitions within, that too enables you to deduce possible transition sequences. They all work for synch, too, but the last is maybe the best method for me.

MagiClub 13 comes to Sheffield, for Jay Gilligan and Wes Peden's juggling masterclass. This was filmed during the lunch break on the final day in about 40 minutes. Instead of asking people to just do anything, I asked them to try something from the workshop that they had learnt, or an idea that they could work into their juggling. This was on about 2 minutes notice, or less, so there are a few ideas from the workshop woven into this video.

If you want to only watch one, watch this one. /nHere's a method to generate siteswap transitions based on where all the balls actually land; making them all work out amounts to creating a sequence. This is my favorite method, and it produces rather easily, all the possible transitions within the context of the throws that you've decided to mess with, either out of necessity (when throws collide) or by choice (when they don't). /nIf you're trying to come up with a way to write an algorithm for producing transitions, I would suggest that this way is the best way. It's deterministic, for one, and it's comprehensive, for another. /nThis is part 1... stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion!!
