British Kendama Championships Tricklist - 2008

BKA

The tricklist for the 2008 British Kendama Championships, which was held at the BJC in March 2008. (#8 should be called "Maeuchi", not "Kajiya". "Kajiya" means to tap to the base cup. Thanks to asidematoi for the correction.)

Valentin Dikul

Archive

A circus acrobat, Valentin took a bad fall and broke his back when he was seventeen. Dikul said no to the wheel-chair and painstakingly rehabilitated himself, largely with the help of his trusted kettlebells. But he did not stop there. He proceeded to become a great circus strongman juggling 80kg kettlebells and a powerlifter with mind-boggling lifts at sixty-something years of age!

Rob Murray was a protégé of Rebla's. This clip shows how he inherited his laid-back, insouciant air, but also made it his own.

Luke Wilson - Club routine

Robin

Filmed in Krystallpalast Varieté, Leipzig in Oct. 2005. Luke was always against having his act online, he always felt that if you wanted to see it you should see it live. Tragically that is no longer a possibility and so I hope he'd forgive me for uploading it now. His work is timeless and I truly believe he'd be happy to let us all enjoy what he spent so long building and be pleased to know that his work lives on to inspire future generations. One of the true greats. RIP old friend.

An interview with Don Robertson

TLMB

Don talks about his fifty-year career as a yo-yo performer: how he got started, competitions, highlights from his career, his son Mark, and what he thinks of the current yo-yo scene. [Subtitles added because I didn't have an external mic, and the cafe background noise was a bit too loud at times.] Interview by The Void (British Yo-yo Champion 2003).

Joe and Wes 4

wespeden

Joe and Wes have made 3 videos together in the past. Each video has been a little bit better then the last. Not so with with this motion picture. Lets put it this way, If Joe and Wes 3 was a tape walkman, then Joe and Wes 4 would be a 80 GB video iPod. It's longer, it has better tricks, better filming, better video quality, just better everything. So make sure you socks are on tight and start downloading JaW4!!!!

I Call This Contact Juggling-Kyle Johnson

anarki_juggler

Damn WMG on Youtube. Long live Juggling.tv! I posted this in support of the Contact Juggling community. I haven't made a pure contact video in a while and I thought it was necessary. Fushigi and its ridiculous marketing/business tactics have taken a lot away from the contact juggling community recently. Things like respect, respect for the fact that we spend years on this stuff. I personally have lots of hard work, study, creativity (i like to think so), and sometimes pain (see, hard work) into this activity. I know many others have too, and I don't like seeing my friend upset over this attempted re-branding and simplification of our art/whatever./nSo I just wanted to say I am not going to admit defeat to this B.S. I'm still going to progress and do what I like and so should everyone else. This is not the end of contact juggling./nArticle by Dube on the subject:http://www.dube.com/blog/?p=765/nPost by Ryan Mellors on the subject: http://www.contactjuggling.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2

45 minutes of juggling! 25 minutes of bonus tricks!! Available now for 15€ http://www.wespeden.com/?page_id=8 Synthetic is a film displaying the new work of Wes Peden. The general aesthetic of the juggling was particularly influences by asymmetry, clarity, and trick shape. The video is 45 minutes long and comes with an additional 25 minutes of bonus tricks and remixes. inside you will find 3 club slapping sequences, the coolest 5 ball pirouette Wes has ever done, 25 new ring patterns, a German 6 ball piece, 3 balls and a sweater, THE THROWING AWAY SECTION, the holy club/cuphead/ball part, site specific head rolls, flipping forehead balances, the 2012 five club routine, and so very much many more! This is a pay for download product. Grab it here! http://www.wespeden.com/?page_id=8 Prop Sponsors http://www.henrys-online.de/ http://www.sportjugglingco.com/ http://www.renegadejuggli

Guy Heathcote Ball Sticks

GbH

The original set of wooden "Guy Heathcote Ball Sticks", as used at, I think, the Cambridge juggling convention in 1996. The routine in this form was only performed on very few occasions, so this is something of a rarity. Taken from old VHS, so video quality isn't great.

Monterrey Jam feat. Cinthia Buitrón “La Flaka”

lucasadverse

As a continuation to my “jam” video series, I was able to collab with another prominent Mexican juggler during my study abroad experience in Mexico. This time I have a female juggler for the first time in this series, and I am very honoured that this juggler is La Flaka. La Flaka is known for being the first (or only) juggler in the history to explore the top-of-the-head balance in the midst of tricks. Before her, jugglers had done patterns while holding that club balance, but no one was ever able to actually integrate the top-of-the-head balance with different siteswaps and body rolls. After hanging out with the Unicirclo Laguna crew in Monterrey for a week, I noticed the potential for modern passing tricks with her and I decided to visit them once again in order to record this video. Thank you Tinoco, Flaka and Leonardo Icaza for making this possible and for being extremely kind and welcoming! Full video with better quality and more details on YouTube!

Spark (New Michael Karas Film)

MichaelAKaras

A year in the making, Spark is unlike any juggling film you have ever or will ever see. A rare glimpse into the creative, inventive, and always humorous mind of Michael Karas reveals extraordinary new juggling ideas, both with traditional and innovative props. Spark celebrates that feeling of euphoria that washes over us when we conquer something new, that spine-tingling thrill of "eureka" when a new idea comes to life. 11 sections of creative and high energy prop manipulation keep the spark alive and contagious.

Rob Murray in the 1940s

Archive

Home movie footage of Rob Murray practising in a garden. In his later years, Murray was known for his laid-back style of comedy juggling, so it is interesting to see him working on more technical tricks here, including 6 & 7 balls. Music is "Ultrafox" by Django Reinhart, tacked on purely because it was the right era, and the right length. Much thanks to Topper and LP for helping to bring this clip to light. Believed to have been filmed by Tex Glanville.

16 ring juggling, 2 person half flash

DampRabbit

16 ring, 2 person half flash. August 16th 1989. Bob Mendelsohn on the left, Owen Morse on the right. The Guinness Book of World Records actually accepted this as a juggling record but said they would not include it in the book since the record for a single juggler was 11 and they thought we should be closer to double that.
