I strayed away from my faster, electronica-based, style of editing to pursue something more relaxed in my last few videos.
For my first personal video of the year (and my first ever solo video as director and not cameraman), I wanted to revisit this style with my recent progress in videography.
I am very happy with the result.

Although so many things went wrong, I still think this turned out rather well.
In the 3 ball part, I went 2 minutes and 40 seconds without a drop, which is good because when I did drop it, I was done anyway. And try to ignore the hiss, I couldn't get rid of it, but I think later on it just went away.
I did something special for part 2, I won't spoil it, but it sucked getting that right, and it still wasn't as good as I had hoped. Yes I shook the camera and didn't realize it, but after that it went alright. although my hand was in the way for one of the tricks, (hint, inside elbow stall, then again rolling it to the fingers).
Contact juggling, for the first 2 parts I was standing on some cloths because of the squeaky floorboard I was on. In this part I decided to take them away so I can stand level on the floor....and you can hear the results. If you can get past the floorboard, then I did pretty good....in the beginning. It's weird, I purposely put the hard tricks in the beginning so if I kept messing up

Breakaway Yo-Yo Trick. The yo-yo used in the demonstration by Luke Renner is a responsive Duncan Dragonfly. Filmed January and February 2013 in Northwest New Mexico. Cinematography by Izzi. I posted this in support of the Contact Juggling community. I haven't made a pure contact video in a while and I thought it was necessary. Fushigi and its ridiculous marketing/business tactics have taken a lot away from the contact juggling community recently. Things like respect, respect for the fact that we spend years on this stuff. I personally have lots of hard work, study, creativity (i like to think so), and sometimes pain (see, hard work) into this activity. I know many others have too, and I don't like seeing my friend upset over this attempted re-branding and simplification of our art/whatever./nSo I just wanted to say I am not going to admit defeat to this B.S. I'm still going to progress and do what I like and so should everyone else. After all these years. Holy crap. it's been 8 YEARS since Kinetic Potential, and now, FINALLY I've gone and had the time and will to make juggling music video number 22. Good god life can suck sometimes keeping you away from doing awesome things on video for the internet heh. Though really, it's my own fault. The whole idea of the big music video series is that I would only do my absolute best tricks in them, and really only make new ones when I have a bunch of new personal bests to put in. Problem is, I hit my peak and plateaued with that 6 ring flat front qualify in the last vid, and so I feel like making another video is unjustified cause it's gonna have the same if not worse tricks in it. Welp, it's reflection of my current abilities since then, sooooo, guess it's better to showcase my decline/plateau than to be hidden forever XD

The Wally-Walk was created by the juggling group, Manic Expressions, who came from our home, Appalachian State, and won the national team passing championship in 1987 (somewhere around there). In honor of them and the great juggling history here in Boone, NC we have brought back the Wally-Walk. Enjoy and share!

I've been wanting to go to a juggling club for a long time, but the closest one is and hour and a half away. Well, it's been really rainy this weeks so my dad thought we could make the trip. I had a blast with my sister Lilly and all the other guys at the club. I learned a ton of new juggling passing patterns that I've never had a chance to do.

This is a video of me on Ringling Bros. Circus doing my 20 Cigar Box Slap Stack.
I did this act for the entire 2001 tour.
In Rings 2 and 3 there are 2 elephants, and in Ring 1 is me (I think I did very well of keeping my audience!).
I was a studier of Friesch. and He is where I got this from.
This was filmed in Knoxville Tn.on February 16th, 2001.
It was filmed by my aunt Ann Hughes.
She was visiting the show with my Mom and my aunt Susan.
Ann passed away of cancer in 2006.

This is my favorite new move at the moment. Do the first half of a full matrix and you will find the staff wants to go behind your neck if you don't lean into the second half straight away. Let it go behind you and lean to the left to get it back in front of you (an extra spin on the back can help line up the centre point) and then do the second half of the matrix.

I learnt these trying to get the matrix. The way you lean and shift your body is very similar to how you would for a matrix but easier. I go in from a horizontal pivot because it gets the staff nicly in plane. Once the staff is on your neck lean away from the staff and let it spin around the back of your neck. Then do the same in the other direction to get it back round the front. Useing your shoulders to push the staff round can help.
